Had a bad misfire on my 2001 A6- bought a pair of these ICM and replaced both- completely fixed the misfire for much less than what the OEM part would cost...

Tried a coil pack, spark plug and injector for my #2 cylinder misfire, nothing fixed it. Heard about these things going but saw the OEM part was $280 for one! I bought 2 of these bad boys and took a shot. Took a mere 30 seconds to replace both ICM's on my 2.7T, and it fixed it! My A6 runs flawless now, until something else breaks... since it's an Audi...

I bought this part after replacing coil packs and spark plugs in an attempt to resolve misfires on my 2001 Audi allroad 2.7t. The car had been running horribly, and wasn't any better for any of my efforts before purchasing this part. This fixed it in 5 minutes. The car is running like new since installation. Unbelievable. Easiest and cheapest fix I ever made on an Audi.. Fraction of OEM price.

Vehicle: 2001.5 Audi S4 2.7T (B5)My car had been throwing a code for a "Missfire in Cylinder 1" and had recently replaced my bank 1 ICM with a second hand OEM ICM from eBay. The missfire caused my car to run rough at idle and feel like it was driving on a broken cv joint (axle) above 10 mph. After exhausting other avenues (Coilpacks, Cam Position Sensor, Fuel Injectors, Plugs), I decided to purchase this ICM in order to replace the Bank 1 ICM; attempting to see if the second hand one had gone bad already. This fixed my missfire in cylinder 1. This is clearly a knock of version of the OEM ICM and I cannot speak to the reliability of the product as it has been installed for all but 2 days at this point. I will update in the future if I experience any problems with this hardware. Otherwise I am happy with the quick and easy fix this provided my situation.

2001 Audi A6 2.7T engine suddenly started running extremely rough, with low power. OBD-II tests showed code P0304 (cyl #4 misfire). Spark plugs and coil packs all tested good. I swapped the Power Output Stages (aka. ignition modules), located on top of the air filter housing, and OBD-II code changed to P0301 (cyl#1 misfire) indicating the ignition modules were the source of the problem. Ordered these for $30 each on Thur PM, received them in WA on Tue AM. Drop-in replacement and works like a charm. I recommend purchasing one, even if yours hasn't failed yet, to keep on hand.
