I was a little skeptical at first buying a 3rd party aftermarket part from an unknown producer, but the part has held up fantastically so far and eliminated the chronic miss at idle that my daughters 1998 A4 was experiencing. As these are a common failure part even among the OEM parts, I'll likely buy another to have as a spare if this one goes bad.The unit came in fairly standard packaging, included thermal paste to refresh the thermal bond to the heat sink in the airbox. That was a great surprise to find as I was searching the house for my CPU thermal paste to use until I opened the box and found that. Install was super easy, don't forget to clean off the old paste from the mounting pad on the car and spread new paste liberally before installing the new unit.

Always good to have a spare one in the glove box. When these ignition control modules fail there is no warnings. The engine will just not start! Save time and money on a tow truck! Great price point for this ICM.

Why spend for OEM if the aftermarket part works great?? I was skeptical this ignition control module would actually solve my misfiring issues but boy I was wrong. My car is running like new again!! This saved me a trip to the mechanic and a couple hundred dollars in labor and parts.

Works perfect on my 1997 audi a8 quattro with the 4.2, no complaints at all. Better than the 200 dollars it would have cost at the dealership. Just for peace of mind I added a layer of clear silicone around the edges to make sure it stays sealed because my car has them located next to the washer fluid filler neck.

My VW dealership (Onion Creek VW in Austin) wanted $300 for the part, and to charge 1 hour of labor to put this on a 1999 VW Passat 1.8T. Considering this was ~$11, and takes all of 30 seconds to install, it was a no brainer. It's sitting in the easiest to get to spot in the world. 2 bolts is all that's holding it on. Just be sure to put a little dielectric grease on the back of the new one before installing it back on. The clips on the 1999 still worked like a charm...literally, easiest install ever.
