Very nice Dutch oven. Nice weight, smooth porcelain coating, easy to grip handles, well fitted lid. Recommend!

This pot cooks like a dream—meat turns out super tender, and it holds heat well for stews and bread baking. Definitely a big step up from basic cookware in terms of performance. The size is just right for a small family, and it looks nice enough to serve straight from the table. But it does have some flaws. The enamel coating is pretty fragile. Mine chipped after a short time, just from light bumps with the lid. You really have to baby it—no metal utensils, no stacking it in the sink with other dishes, and definitely no dishwasher. Also, it's pretty heavy, so not ideal for glass stovetops unless you're extra careful.Another thing worth noting—there's no independent testing confirming it’s truly lead-free, and similar enameled pots from other brands have tested positive for lead, even if labeled safe.Tip: If you want it to last, always lift the lid gently, use silicone or wooden tools, and store it with a soft cloth between the pot and lid to avoid chipping.✔ proscooks evenly and retains heat wellgreat for oven recipes like roasts or breadstylish and feels sturdygood price for cast iron✘ consenamel chips easily if not handled gentlyheavy enough to crack glass stovetops if droppedno verified lead-free test resultsnot dishwasher safeThis review takes a look at the enameled cast iron dutch oven – umite chef 5QT pot with lid & cotton potholders made by Umite Chef.

This Enameled Cast Iron Dutch Oven works as expected. Makes for a nice git for someone that would want a Dutch oven. Decent size and capacity for a large chicken, could possibly git a small turkey in it. The pot retains heat well once it gets warmed up in the oven and evenly distributes the heat over the contents for a nice thorough cook compared to using a plain pot with glass lid. Feels durable and has an interesting color to it. A nice upgrade for oven cooking.

We own other more expensive Dutch Ovens and for the price this one is definitely a nice addition to our kitchen. While weight is inline for it size and is able to move it easily. The two little oven mitts are interesting and nice to have and work, but I like my larger ones I have just so I know I have a full grip. But the little oven mitts do work. The enamel on the inside and outside was perfect with no issues. The lid fit well on the top but it does not have enamel on it to top rim. What I mean about this is that it is designed this way to have a course almost sandpaper feel to the top edge of the pot as well as the same on the inside of the lid. It was black on mine. It is where the pot and the lid match up. Just the small area where the lid meets the pot. Maybe this is there to prevent damage from the main enamel or to prevent the lid from moving easily. Overall it does not reduce the quality or effectiveness of the pot. After use it is easy to clean. Overall very happy with it.

It's fantastic 😍 it's everything I expected. I made goulash in it the first day, then I made a three bean 🍲 and the last thing I cooked in itssx split pea and ham soup with heirloom carrots, diced sweet potato, onion, celery and chicken broth. It's super heavy and it's obviously very well made. Dutch ovens are the best to braise in. I will be getting years of use and it was affordable. Your not paying for a name here. It's just as nice as the more pricier ones.

I do have the fancy French version of this pot and mine is the very largest size which is very, very heavy. So I wanted something a little smaller and I am so pleased with this in every way.The weight of this pot is very manageable and the color is just gorgeous…not as bright as a green as in the photo but more of a Christmas green. The enamel on my pot was perfect, inside and out. The lid gives a very snug fit. The one thing that is different between my two pots….this one has an almost sandpaper feel to the top edge of the pot as well as the same feel on the inside of the lid, just the small area where the lid meets the pot. This is intentional and not a flaw. Maybe it is to give a better grip where the pot and lid meet.I do know from experience that if you are using this on a cook top of any kind that you start off with a much lower heat. The cast iron inside the enamel coating conducts heat very differently than say a frying pan. I let this sit on my glass cooktop at medium low to heat and that is comparable to medium after it gets hot. After 5 minutes or so of heating, I am ready to add my ingredients. After that it then goes right into the over for a long time slow cook.I saw no difference in the using of this pot over my fancy French version. Easy to clean up in the sink afterwards. Manageable to get out of my cupboard or just leave on the cooktop. Great in every way.I always use a heavy duty pot holder, so these cute little pot holders will go to my grand daughters play kitchen.

If I compared this to my other Dutch oven, which is a name brand and probably at least twice as expensive, I would be hard-pressed to pick a winner. This is a great product and is more than large enough to hold a decent meal for multiple people. I was a bit hesitant about the cream color, but in person, I really like it, and I think it looks good enough that you could easily serve a meal directly from it. I'm not sure how it will stand up to staining through prolonged use, but after a few uses, there is absolutely no problem.Like any cast iron product, this is heavy, but that heft comes with benefits, and it cooks amazingly well. It is also very durable, and you can use it in a lot of different ways with no worries about damaging the pot. The best part about it all is how easy it is to clean. The enameled surface pretty much wipes clean, even after baking in the oven for a few hours.WHAT I LIKED:• Looks great• Well made• Cooks really well• Versatile• Durable• Easy to cleanWHAT I DON'T LIKE:• Because it's cast iron, it is pretty heavy, so be aware of that.
