I used this Enerlites switch for 9 months until I just couldn't take it any more. This switch was installed in my garage right beside the door into the house. Half the time the lights would not come on when entering the garage so we got in the habit of waving our hand in front of the switch to get the lights on. Many morning I would be the first person to the garage and would find the lights already on, so the lights could have been on all night. Worse thing was when the lights would automatically turn off while I am working in the garage. Pretty scary situation when I am in the middle of a cut on my table saw and the lights turn off. And none of my dance moves would turn the lights back on until I walked over within 3 feet of the switch.I finally had enough and I purchased a different switch, Intermatic IOS-DSIF-WH. The Intermatic switch is absolutely perfect. It is amazing to have the lights turn on automatically EVERY time I enter the garage. And the lights actually stay on until I leave the garage. The Intermatic switch has a manual On and Off that I thought I would need, but turns out the switch is smart enough stay on when needed.Save your time, your money and your safety, and don't buy the Enerlites switch.

Right off the bat, the switch works great. Technically it's 5 stars. My problem (and this is my fault) is the timer options. 15s then 15m ---- 15m!!!! This might work for an office or industrial setting but for home, that gap is too wide. I purchased this for a powder room (no shower), I did not pay attention to the timer options because I honestly thought that they all had more common sense numbers, like 15s, 30s, 60s, 5m, 15m, etc. etc.Right now, if I go to use the bathroom, it turns on (yay!) and turns off in the middle of a number 1. Forget doing a number 2, it goes off multiple times.Since I'm not switching this to 15m for the powder room, I'll have to replace the switch. I don't know what room I'll end up using this for - maybe the laundry room. I wish I could return it for another type but it's too late. I got an electrician to install it and will have to get one to switch it.

I've tried several different types of motion sensor switches. these work ok, but they have several short comings. First, the range isn't very good, so they won't work well in an area like a large garage. They work in conjunction with an ambient light sensor, which can't be turned off, so if you want this to operate a venting fan in a bright bathroom, it probably isn't going to work out. Finally, you can only choose between 15 and 30 minute timeouts. For my purposes this just isn't flexible enough. On the plus side it is an attractive looking switch. However, I would advice looking at other switches that are more configurable, such as:

Super easy to install - the only hitch that I had for installing this occupancy sensor was that when I opened up the switch - in the garage I only saw three wires. Two black and one ground. As you know this one needs the forth wire, so I had to pull out the cable bundle and find one the white wire that had been tucked in the box because it was not used on the existing switch.I figured out which was the hot wire and used the supplied wire nuts to install. There was no white face plate in mine, but I did not need one.

I needed a motion detector switch to operate the exhaust fan in our main bathroom. I got the impression that this unit was not affected by the ambient light and would turn on day or night since the switch faces the bathroom window. It is light sensitive and wont turn on the fan on bright days unless you cover the sensor with your hand. Also the timer is only adjustable for 37seconds(for testing), 15 minutes and 30 minutes. Would much prefer a 5 minute setting. The nite light feature would be great if it gave off about twice as much light. Mostly my complaint is that it is not properly described in the catalogue. The unit is very solidly built.

This is hands down one of the best things next to Alexa that I purchased this year. My wife has a tendency to leave the light on in the laundry room (some times for DAYS!!!) because it is in the dungeon of the my castle. Unless I specifically go downstairs I will not know that the light was on or was on for multiple days or even a week. Yeah, the unit will have a constant draw on to monitor the motion in the area but no where near the amount of power that the lights gobbled over 3 days.I'm a very handy guy when it comes to electric so this was a breeze and decided to cut it in hot. This unit DOES require a neutral!!! If you're reading other reviews where they said the unit had an extra wire and didn't work please DISREGARD THAT PERSON!!! You will use all wires during the installation. True, the directions are not the greatest but most of us who deal in electric don't read them anyway and know how these things work. The occupancy vs vacancy switch might be confusing but just think about what you want and set the dip switches appropriately......if it doesn't work the way you want, change it to the other mode. Mine is set to turn on when motion is detected and having this unit down-firing onto a top loading washing machine was concerning but it's super sensitive but enough that I can't sneak into that room to get a beer from the fridge. Love this switch!!!

Great product, easy to install, and does it's job... Makes going in and out of my bathrooms at night without stumbling, and turns lights on and off. I set it at the maximum time, and when I leave the bathroom... I press the button and turn it off immediately.. If you forget, ... It will turn off on its own based on the setting that you applied to it. No more lights left on.Oh.. It's a single pole sensor, it will not work in a three way setting. Don't be confused with the instructions... It only works in a room that has one single switch.
