Tried those universal one and they were too bulky to fit in those small water saving tanks. Finally found this compact one which fit perfectly! Very easy to install. The toilet is working again!

My previous flush lever with a plastic arm broke at the bend. The one has a solid brass arm. Fit my side mount flush toilet with no problems. It can be mounted with the lever facing either forward or back depending on other components in the toilet. If necessary, the brass arm can be bent to clear things like the fill valve. No instructions, but simply unscrew the bolt on the old lever, disconnect the chain, and reverse to install new lever. When tightened correctly, the bolt was flush with the side without overtightening.

The material of the rod is critical because it must be bent to fit my toilet.BRASS: bendable - will not crack - will not corrodePLASTIC: not bendable - easy to crack - will not corrodeSTEEL: bendable - will not crack - will corrodePOT METAL: not bendable - easily cracks - can corrodeBrass or bronze is the most expensive material in this group. Many flush assemblies for sale here are made of cheap metal with a thin plating or coating to look like brass but will fail in a short time or instantly when you try to bend the rod.The flush assembly that I am replacing did last for a year or more but with no warning broke in half. When I looked inside the tank I found this bloated, flaky, thing that had converted to rust and fell to pieces. It was steel at one time and pretending to be brass. I never looked in the tank to discover the massive corrosion until it was too late. This new rod is actually solid brass. I filed the end off to expose the inside. It bends nicely too.The nut is plastic and has right-hand threads. Some say left-hand thread style do not come loose during use.My toilet is a left side 45 degree mount design requiring a little bend in the rod to fit.
