I purchased this six-pack bundle in 2021. At the time these were my favorite strings to use on a solidbody guitar. Back in the 1980s I used a heavier set of Ernie Balls, (.011 to .048) but advancing age, carpal tunnel and surgery to the CMC joint of my left thumb compelled a change to a lighter gauge. For a while I was using Ernies in the pink package. Gauge.009 to.042, and they were pretty good, but I found myself missing the strong, solid bottom end for rhythm work, so I decided to try the hybrid set depicted here. This was a great alternative, giving me more tension and output on the wound strings and the flexibility of the plain treble strings for solo and lead work. I find these strings solid and stable once they get settled in, and with a little bit of care, wiping them dry after playing, they last a long time. I have since switched to GHS Brite Flats, but I still have a couple sets of these EB Hybrid Slinkys in a drawer. I would definitely recommend them, and if for any reason my current favorites became unavailable I would gladly use these strings again. Pro’s are great tone, good feel and lifespan, reasonably priced, and easy to find online and in music shops. The only minus I can think of is that the second or B string is a little bit looser than the rest of the set. When I played these regularly I used to throw away the second string and replace it with a slightly heavier one. Great product from a longtime leader in electric guitar strings!
