This suction cup mount from Escort firmly holds a radar and laser detector in place, letting the driver confidently detect signals from X, K, and Ka bands while on the road. The mount fits the current Escort Passport 8500 X50, Solo S2, and Passport 7500S models, as well as earlier Passport 8500, 7500, 6800, 5000, 4600, 4500, and 4200 units and RD-5110, Solo 5, and Solo 4 detectors.

Nothing bad to say about it. Works just like the original and has great suction cups.

I was nervous to try this mount due to the mixed reviews but it works perfectly for my Escort Solo. I mounted it last week and it hasn’t budged or failed one time.

Now I have a mount for both my cars works perfectly. Suction cups work well but they seem to were out over the years so it is good to have some extras.

Considering the costly complications of a Traffic ticket (insurance goes high, and your law violation records) I quit using Radar Detectors 10 Years ago. Considering the sophisticated tactics used by PD (checking your time between 2 PD squads posted in a precise distance, normally couple miles apart), and also using snipe and snake tactics (turning on the Radar Gun after having you in sight), it makes a radar detector not only useless but creates a false safety impression with devastating consequences. So I bought it to mount on the window glass a Xiaomi XiaoFang 1080P Wireless IP Camera, size 2in x 2in x 2in and weight 3.5 OZ.It didn’t hold on the glass. I solved the problem making a new one, by myself, using a T metal strip and 3 suction cups, and it works great. The point is that, 3 support points solve the problem.

I bought this as a replacement for one I forgot in a rental car on my last trip. It does everything that is expected of it. Holds my Red Line securely to the windscreen. Fits the older models before the magnetic mounts.

In all the years I've been using radar detectors, they've all come with suction cups. You make sure your windshield is clean, then you securely attach the cups to the windshield. If your detector is bouncing up and down on your windsheild - then you haven't installed the suction cups correctly! Also, if you've purchased the suction cups because you did not think they were included with the radar detector you purchased, DOH, DUH. Next time read the part of the add, THAT TELLS YOU WHATS INCLUDED IN THE BOX! Since the suction cups ARE SO CHEAP, maybe one should purchase a few sets - keep them in the glove box and replace them every few months so your $500 detector doesn't go BOUNCING OFF OF YOUR DASH!

The description does not mention that this also works with the 9500i and 9500ix Escort detectors. When I read this I noticed this model wasn't mentioned so I was a little concerned this model was omitted from the list on purpose. At this cheap price though I figured it was worth taking a chance, turns out it is the identical mount that comes with your 9500i detector. There are better mounting options available, the Escort visor mount works with the 9500i as well, makes for a solid mount, just difficult to access the buttons and some people may experience GPS connectivity problems if mounted directly at the roof of your vehicle (though I haven't had any problems). There's another company that makes a mount that attach's directly to your rear view mirror that works very well, it's just a little pricey for what you actually get.I have been annoyed by after a period of time the suction cups popping loose and your $500 detector goes crashing into the dash and onto the floor while you're driving down the road. This is never a good feeling when it happens. When this does happen to me I don't even boil mine in water. I just leave them in a cup of hot tap water over night. By morning the clear cups look white, but when they dry out they turn clear again and work like brand new for another few months. Making sure your windshield is clean before sticking them on helps significantly as well.I bought the additional mounts listed here because I use my detector in multiple vehicles. It's always a pain resticking and rebending a single mount to get it to work in different vehicles, for this cheap price I can now have a mount in each of my vehicles. The less you stick and unstick these suction cups the longer they hold as well. The description should also warn people though, some states, like California for one have laws against any suction cups being mounted on your windshield. If you live in such a state you may want to opt for the more expensive mirror mount or the visor mount instead. You can search "countryjoycrafts" to find the better, but far more expensive mirror mounting option.
