First off... EVH has once again switched tube brands. This time from JJ's to Groove Tubes. With that said, these "premium select" 12AX7's are meant to go in V1 and V4 (if you have a 100 watt head), or V1 and V2 (if you have a 50 watt head). Personally, aside from the 2 "EVH" preamp tubes, I still use JJ 12AX7's in V2, V3, and V7, with JJ 5751's in V5 and V6 (which reduces the Red channel's gain by 10%), and a "balanced triode" 12AX7 in V8.I'm just glad they brought the EVH branded tubes back after being discontinued a few years ago.
