What is exhaust gas recirculation valve?
The EGR Valve is an emission control device.
It modulates the flow of exhaust gas into the intake manifold to reduce nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions.
It's used to reduce fuel consumption,improve engine performance.
Note: Before installing this part, check the Exhaust Gas Recirculation Valve passage in the intake manifold and clear any carbon blockage.
Failure to do so will result in repeat malfunction of the Exhaust Gas Recirculation Valve system.

Do yourself a favor and do not buy this. It's cheap for a reason.Installed in my 05 Civic in November after discovering old one was clogged and broken. Also cleaned out the egr intake ports which were plugged solid.This part lasted for 2 months before it broke internally. Car would crank but not start unless i held gas down and then it idled like crap. No codes and couldn't figure out why. Turnt out to be this "new part" that is garbage. 30 day return so can't get money back...

2003 Honda Civic EX. Never worked quite right, caused my car to run slightly lean for a while. About 8 months after putting this into my car, it mechanically broke and kept my car from being able to run. Replaced with an OEM and now the car runs great.

We ordered this and installed it, and while it's been 4 months since purchase, we have driven the vehicle less than 1,000 miles and it completely failed. The car died and the diagnosis was the EGR valve so we took it off the car and it sounded like a rock bouncing in a can because the internal parts blew apart. There is also no warranty info to find so that's a bust. Oh well, should have known better. Be warned.

I HAD MY MECHANIC INSTALL EGR VALVE ON MY 2003 HONDA CIVIC. HE DELETED THE CHECK ENGINE CODE. AFTER DRIVING LESS THAN 5 MILES CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME BACK ON. RETURNED TO MECHANIC AND EGR VALVE CODE WAS BACK.

This didn't even work it made the car worse until I put the old part back in. Wasted my money and time putting more parts in the car thinking this part was good. Don't buy this.
