If You are not in a production environment ( you have time on your hands with nothing better to do then perfectly level wind your 100’ cord) then this plastic hub reel will just BARELY but adequately hold your high dollar cord.

Extension cords seem to be everywhere in my shop, and yet they have no organized storage. There are about six of them in varying lengths, hung on hooks, and coiling each one is a real PIA. That said, I was very keen to try this extension cord holder/organizer, and I am well pleased. The reel comes fully assembled, except for the turning handle, which must be attached. It was a trial getting the screw down through the handle, (it will make sense when you do so), and I balanced the screw on my fingertip to get it to fit. Also, tighten it to normal tightness and then back it off a turn, so your handle will turn on the screw as you are rolling the reel. The rest is pretty normal. Your extension cord female end will plug into the reel, and then you roll the cord up on the reel. When you plug in the male end and turn on the lighted switch (so you know there is power to the reel), the four plugs on the reel are now hot. In a very nice design, the reel turns around the plugs, so they are stationary. It's a pretty cool system and the reel is well built and should hold up well. There is a guide on the front of the reel to guide your cord as you're rolling it up, It looks tight, but it works. Just remember when you are rolling up the cord, the male end won't be able to go through the guide. This is a nice well made tool, to control those extension cords you hate coiling by hand. I got the DL615-B, and it will hold 75 feet of 12 gauge, or 100 feet of 14 gauge. Also note, it is good up to 15 amps before it is overloaded, so no hair driers - also note, this is designed for indoor use only - no wet environments, so it's built for indoors, in the shop. This is a good, very handy, well built tool, and I recommend it.

I'm probably one of the few DIYers that does a lot of carpentry and home repairs but doesn't have many battery-operated tools. Forty years ago, I had a battery operated drill but, after a few years, the battery quit holding a charge and a replacement battery was more than a new drill so, now all my saws and drills are wired. That works well for me 99% of the time. My barn, garage and shop all have overhead retractable cord reels that reach everywhere within the building. However, in the 1% of the time I need to use a tool outside those buildings, I find using extension cords can be a PITA. No matter how carefully I coil and store them, they are easily entangled. Untangling them takes a lot of time as does coiling them back at the end of the job. This Zorky reel is a great solution. I installed a heavy-duty 100 foot cord which it easily holds. Even when it's fully extended, it only takes a couple of minutes to rewind it and pulling out the cord for use is even easier. I will point out that the 'cable management clip' (which is a little different on my reel than pictured) will keep the end plug from coming off the reel. That's actually a good thing but will preclude the user from installing two extension cords (the unspooling will stop when you reach the end of the first cord).I also like that I can store the reel on a wall-mounted utility hook 9see second picture) so I always know where it will be.
