This is a game changer for older buildings with worn out door frames. It's a long plate with several anchor points. For newer door frames, it also provides better security and is harder to breach.Used it to replace the lock on my shed as it's way cheaper than replacing the entire door frames.

works well for a door frame that doesn't close right and never latches. I like that its extra long so the screws can go in spots different than previous strike plate.

Works well—but only if you're reinforcing one strike plateThis is a well-made, heavy-duty strike plate that does exactly what it claims—if you're only looking to reinforce a single latch point, such as your deadbolt. I ordered the black finish, and so far, the coating seems very durable. After two weeks of regular use, there’s been no visible wear, chipping, or scratching, which gives me confidence in the long-term durability. That said, this design comes with a very specific limitation: it’s not ideal for setups where you want to upgrade both the deadbolt and doorknob strike plates in a dual-locking entry door. Because this plate is extended and oversized, you can’t simply install a second one for the other latch—there’s not enough room. It’s meant to butt up against a standard-sized doorknob strike plate, which creates a mismatched look if aesthetics are important to you.If you're only reinforcing the deadbolt and don't mind the visual contrast, this is a solid solution. But if you’re aiming for a cleaner, uniform appearance across both latch points, you’ll need to look for a dual strike plate model that accommodates both in a single piece.Still, for what it is—an extended, reinforced solution to fix latch misalignment or strengthen your deadbolt area—this does the job well. Just know its limitations before committing.

This striker plate is a high-quality item with an excellent finish, making it a superb replacement for any loose, broken, or stripped-out ones. Installation is straightforward, and its very solid construction, featuring six screw holes, guarantees a remarkably firm attachment to the door frame. It fit perfectly and offers significantly enhanced security compared to standard strike plates. The lock bolt engages smoothly, and its robust design makes it strong enough for use on any door, providing reliable added security.

Thankfully it was just as described - I needed a longer strike plate to fasten a lot better to the door frame and this worked

Item is exactly as described it's an extra long plate for your door. It comes with all of the necessary screws for installation. I think it's more meant to be used for doors that don't also have a deadbolt because of the length of it it will get in the way if your door has a normal handle and also a deadbolt. So keep that in mind

Best if you check your exterior door first that you don't have deadbolts, too. Hah! Rookie error on my part. Medium thickness strike plate.
