What I liked. The gloves are water resistant and I can use my fingers. I wore them snowshoeing and put chemical toe warmers under the finger covers for extra warmth. It was very windy, below 20 degrees and snowed most of the day. On warmer days they would be fine without the toe warmers. What I didn't like. The thumb covers are a pain. They flop open all the time and the thumbs are too long.I took the thumb covers off and moved them lower on the thumb to shorten it a little. Then I ended up sewing the thumb covers shut so now I can't open them but at least they don't flop open all the time. If the design of the thumbs and covers was changed the gloves would be 5 stars.Size: I bought a large (I wear a medium). Order at least one size larger than you usually wear.

I grabbed these gloves as I needed some new ones and liked the features that these had.Waterproofing works great when used in snow. They are also wind resistant, which is a good bonus. The magnets that hold the convertible mitten back is nice and strong and won’t easily flip back down when you don’t want it to. They for snug on your fingers if you’d order a size that you’d expect to be correct. I’d recommend grabbing a pair, they’re definitely worth the price!

Recently took these on a back country elk hunting trip they worked great to 45 degrees. Soon got 10 inches of snow and temps dropped to 26 these gloves held up for maybe 30 minutes. They are not waterproof and I wouldn’t even call them water resistant they soaked all the way through from snow fall alone. Couldn’t imagine using them ice fishing. My hands became pruned because of the wetness and with the low temp it was going to cause major problems. My left hand pinky and ring finger are still numb and that’s no exaggeration and I’m getting quite concerned. The thumb flap on these gloves also would not stay closed so thumbs were exposed the entire time. DO NOT TRUST THESE GLOVES

I'll just say this up front. I'm a glove-aholic. I spend about 25 days / year skiing, I do photography and I fish. So that covers the basic reasons you might want these gloves. You can operate things without taking your mitts off completely and they'll keep your hands acceptably warm. Are these below 0°F super powder backcountry mitts? No, but bases on my experience and quick tests at home, they should be OK for anything above 25° F. For the record, I own gloves and mittens by Gordini, Head, Outdoor Research, Scott, Cabela's and Black Diamond. Most of these have Gore-Tex liners. I also have a pair of heated gloves from some rando import company that actually work well.I haven't used them on the slopes yet but I did test out the waterproof-ness with a spray bottle and they seem as good as anything in this price range. I didn't notice anything getting through to the liner even after 20 minutes of soaking. (Note that this is usually a function of a quality DWR finish.) The flip-back feature works well at keeping the finger portion of the glove folded out of the way. This leaves about 1/2 of your fingers exposed with the base covered by the half-finger liner. (If that makes sense.) That's good enough to operate a camera or fishing reel. Overall, the finish and construction of the mittens are excellent ... about on par with my OR mittens. If you're really concerned about warmth, there is enough room for a Hot Hands glove warmer pack but it won't be in a dedicated pocket like some gloves offer. There are a few minor issues. First, my hands are pretty small and I usually wear a size small Men's glove. Based on other reviews, I opted for a medium and that's about right. So keep that in mind. I'm also not a fan of the faux fir lining. From experience, these feel great to start but tend to pack down over time. Also, the thumb hole is tight. I presume that will loosen with use so not a big deal. Finally, the cord & lock system that tightens the snow cuff around your wrist could be easier to use. They've used a very stretchy elastic and for some reason, it takes a LOT of tugging to get the cuff tightened down. Admittedly, these are minor nitpicks and don't really affect the overall function of the gloves.Bottom line: Highly recommended IF you need or want to be able use your fingers to do things. If not, then stick to conventional mittens -- they will be warmer overall.NOTE - I was sent this product free of charge in exchange for my honest review. I have been a product tester in the ski, fishing, volleyball and racquetball/tennis industries.

This is a nice pair of convertible mittens for any activity where you may need access to your fingers (Fishing, Hunting, etc.). I especially like the magnets which hold the mittens flaps open and the draw-strings which tighten at the wrist. My only issue is that thumb is extra long and a bit too narrow, so it's awkward...

I’m pretty impressed with these gloves. They have a wrist strap and pull cord to keep them tight to your arm so debris and snow stay out. There’s a water proof zipper thats easy to use and the magnets hold the thumb and finger flaps well. The inside is very soft, comfortable and warm. The palm side has grip material that keeps your hands from slipping. These gloves will work great for anything you would want to do in cold weather.
