I am a fan of the FastCap tape measures. The 16' tapes are a good size for my woodworking shop when breaking down larger stock. The built-in features, such as the erasable note side panel and pencil sharpener, are handy when not in the shop. This flat tape measure was purchased as an extra for the times I'm working with curved surfaces. As with my other FastCap tapes, it is easy to read the marks and accurately mark my work pieces because of the flat tape. It seems to be as well-built as my other tapes. I consider FastCap tapes measures a good value.

The tape measure works as it should. It has several unique features like a pencil sharpener and a button on the bottom to quickly hold the tap in place. I do not like the fact that the tape is vinyl in construction, not like a typical metal tape, so it has no rigidity which makes it difficult to use. Would not buy again.

Sometimes I get in a hurry when I am shopping. I have other fast cap rules and saw the white with black lettering. I thought it would be easier with my old vision. What I missed was “flat back”. Meaning the tape is flat. Not that useful. Might be why they are on sale. Wish I had read the description better. Totally my fault.

I would really like to give it 5 stars because it's really nice to have a flat tape, but the hook is not properly installed, i had to shim it quite a bit to get proper measures... A bit disappointing.

Love these little guys.. they are super accurate and easy to read. Love the flat rule design it really makes for easy marking. They are not so good if you are measuring over a long span wheee you need any “stand out” but love these in the shop for woodworking!!

First off, this tape measure is designed for outside measurement not inside measurements. The tang on the end does not move to compensate for the thickness of the tang, so pressing it against and inside corner, for example, your measurement would be off by the thickness of the tang. This information is stated in the description, so I knew this when purchasing. The tape comes out and in very easily which can be good and bad, when trying to hold the tape in position. The tang has difficulty holding on to the outside edge of objects and because it retracts so easily can cause a bit of frustration. The lock doesn't have very smooth action. The measurements are spot on, tested with precision scales, but the tang covers up a lot of info in the first inch. For small measurements I would use something else. The lay flat feature is awesome and for that reason and its accuracy, it is a welcome addition to my shop, and I would recommend.
