About this item

  • Two vintage-style Jazz Bass pickups produce Geddy's legendary tone
  • A Badass Bass II bridge further adds to the girth of this model's tone
  • A narrow, fast-action neck makes this bass feel fast, slinky, and nimble enough for the most challenging progressions
  • Deluxe gig bag included
  • Hand orientation: Right Handed

Mean, mean stride. The Geddy Lee Jazz Bass guitar is an exact replica of the tonally singular instrument that Rush's revered bassist/vocalist has riffed away on in front of millions of devoted fans worldwide and on many a mega-selling album. The bass has an alder body; the thin one-piece C-shaped maple neck has a maple fingerboard with black binding and black rectangular position markers. The two vintage Jazz Bass single-coil pickups crackle with life and bristle with the energy. Other features include chrome hardware, vintage-style tuners and a Badass Bass II bridge.

I can't get over how awesome this is. My first fender and it plays like a dream. I don't have an older Fender to compare, but again I also don't have $5000+ to get one.

This has a sublime neck and all the growl Geddy is know for summoning. Absolutely wonderful, right out of the box.

My first fender and I absolutely love it. The tone is incredible. Was delivered in good time and condition. Love how it feels. My only complaint is with the delivery service that is contracted to deliver. The driver leaned it up against the door frame, knocked and walked away. Answered the door as he was leaving. Didn't ask for a signature as he was suppose to do. Greatful that we heard the door knock.

QC and build quality compared to other countries made (especially CIJ/MIJ Fender) in my opinion it not really worth the price. The one I got have some scratches on neck and body. Other than that, sound is OK but not amazing. Frets not very smooth. Not the one I play and press the "I WANT IT" button.

I was able to pick up a scratch and dent version of this with a nice discount. It's fantastic. I mean, it's been a few days and I've already listed a few of my other basses for sale, because this one is a keeper and may end up being my #1. Great tone, medium weight, excellent bridge, singing pickups. The neck is thin, but not overly so; I've heard that these newer GL MIMs have thicker necks compared to past models, and I believe it to be true. The sound is so full - deep lows (not as much bottom as a P bass, but there's plenty there). The mids sizzle and sound good, unlike mids on many basses (IMHO). The highs are tight and crispy. I cannot think of anything bad to say about this instrument. It looks cool, it helps produce great music, and it has a classic vibe. Cheers!

for an extra $100.00, get the made in Japan model or better yet, get your local Guitar Center to sell you a Japanese model with Swing Bass 66 strings; out the door (tax included) at $900 even like I did!

I can't say enough about how incredibly fun this bass is. The neck is super fast. The workmanship is on par with American made models. This is a Made In Mexico bass. I wouldn't hesitate to purchase this bass. Even if you aren't a Rush superfan this bass rocks. Be aware that the bass is no longer made with the BAD*SS II. It is now a different hi mass bridge, I think it is a Geddy Lee bridge now. If you order from Amazon you will probably the BA II as I did, but don't take my word for it. I ordered a MIM P bass ata few months later and got a 2011 model even though it was 2014. Sum it up this is a great bass with a great price and is very comparable in my opinion to an American made bass.
