My favorite tool for loosening stuck valve caps and slides. Also perfect for applying just the right amount of tapping force to bend back parts. Will not mar if used gently.

This works well especially when you don't want to mar anything up with a nice finish.

This mallet is not Rawhide, it feels really light to hold, and if you look at the pictures, you can see that it looks like it's some kind of wood that's wrapped in some kind of leather. IT'S NOT THE SAME LIKE THE ONE IN THE PICTURE! Very disappointed! I am returning this mallet. Don't be stupid people!

Great mallet, comfortable to hold, well made. Great to use when you only have a few frustrations to work out!

Bought this awhile back and was not sure what I would do with it. I was new to jewelry and leather work but now I am really loving it. It works great with the leather work I do. It is a big mallet but it does the job quite well. Works great with hole punches...

I first saw this item in a jewelry store when I took in a ring that was bent. The repair technician brought out his hammer and with a few well placed hits the ring was back to original shape. After asking about the type of mallet, the answer was-- this is just a simple rawhide hammer, nothing special. As soon as I could get on the web, my order to Amazon was placed. It works great. No damage to the rings--I only wish I had found out earlier.

Just the mallet I was looking to buy. The only reason I did not give it five stars is because both faces of the mallet where concave thus no flat surface. I sanded the surface of both faces to make them slightly convex and then rounded the edges to give the faces a more solid contact. After the sanding the mallet was perfect.I would buy this product again.
