I've used 2 different spin trainers before and not really liked either. One was cheap plastic just meant to kind of spin on your flooring surface, so not much help at all. The other was basically like this but square (that part is no problem) and has a very, very rough surface such that I'd have to wear shoes every time I used it - and not soft dance shoes, either, unless I wanted basically to sandpaper the bottoms. This has enough texture on the surface that it's not slippery, but it's not too rough to use with bare feet or soft shoes, so it's MUCH more useful. The spin is smooth and it's very much plug and play - well, put on floor and play. It's not "easy" per se because spins aren't easy, but the equipment itself is fundamentally uncomplicated so the only difficulty is the spin itself.

This is a nice heavy duty little turn table. I figured if it can fit a parson, it can hold a woodworking project like an end table on a piece of wood to turn around and spray finish. The top and bottom are grippy and work great. I am 240 lbs and out of curiosity watched a few videos on use, and I could spin on it (admittedly not very gracefully, but that is because it was me)Price wise its less than many finish spray spinners I have been looking at and seems to be identical in build/function but with an even higher weight limit.Overall its just a good spinner for my use case and seems to be good for its intended use if even I an untrained person can spin on it reasonably effectively.

I bought this when there were zero reviews, but I liked the look of it. I've seen similar at the rink for nearly $100, and wasn't willing to pay that much. This is really fun to use! I'm back in beginner skating classes after being off the ice for over 30 years, and I can no longer spin like I did when I was in my teens, so I'm starting over again. I'm using this off-ice trainer for more benefits than just figure skating training. What I like:7.7 inches in diameter, round. Most of my foot fits on it, which is all that matters to obtain center of gravity.Unique in that it does not rotate until you put your weight on it, then it spins very smoothly.Benefits that I have found:Allows you (off-ice) to get your vision accustomed to the spinning motionYou learn a lot from proper arm and leg movements that you will later use on the ice.You can experiment and learn from different methods of pulling your arms inward and foot positions. It can seem a bit difficult the first day, but it is FUN. I'm seeing improvements and more rotations completed each day I use it. It can be a bit addicting, kind of like a challenging toy to work out on.I use it in a room with a hard floor with an area rug. It is stable and does not slip at all.I recommend when you first try it, don't push off too hard. Similar to being on the ice, find your center of gravity and then pull in to increase your rotation speed. At this price, it is more than worth trying out. I have found it is more than worth the price to try (even for older adults for benefits for honing your balance as you age as well as honing muscles that are needed to shift to keep you upright).(video review will be coming soon)
