As described. Not quite as robust as I'd have liked. The striker is very small and the wrong angle so I'll stick to a knife. The fire plugs work fine. The clip isn't very tough so it will get bent or crushed easily. Id also really like to see the threading for the rod be a little stronger. I can see the rod easily walking itself out and disappearing all together. All that said, it's worth it for the price. I wasn't able to easily find a ferro rod with a clip on it. I'd buy again. Just wish it also came with a few replacement rods. 3.5/5

It functions more or less the same as any other Ferro rod I've used. You got a somewhat short but pretty thick fire steel so you're going to get quite a few strikes out of it. The tinder is also pretty good but you'd want to use it in conjunction with other materials to create a tinder bundle as the tinder on its own simply isn't going to be enough. The only "issue" is that the whistle on the top isn't terribly loud so if you were going to take this with you on a hike, camping trip, or throw it in your go bag you'd want to have another dedicated whistle to supplement this one. Overall, decent little thing.
