Let me start by saying this arrived well packaged exactly as described and is a very nice looking well constructed scope the only reason I didn’t give it five stars is the magnification gets rather blurry and unusable after fifty yards as far as providing any close up view that is aside from that for short range for the money it’s a very nice little spotter scope.

The good. This scope is reasonably compact although too large to fit in an average coat pocket, the image is bright and clear, better than I expected at this price. It came with a coated nylon case, nylon strap, cleaning cloth, mini tripod, lens caps, warranty card and instruction booklet. The tripod can be folded up and used as a handle. Tripod has rubber feet to prevent it from sliding around. The rear lens cap fit snugly but was not difficult to remove or replace. The bad. Unfortunately this scope is not remotely 20X. I have a pair of Simmons 8x25 and this scope is only a smidgen more powerful, I would estimate the Firefield at 10X [see update at bottom]. The instruction booklet was for an adjustable power spotting scope, in other words it was the wrong booklet for this model; not a big issue as I didn't need instructions but it says something about quality control. The front lens cap is very loose fitting and I am 100% sure it would be lost in the field, if used.Update: I've spent more time with this scope and maybe was a bit harsh with my first remarks. The optics really are bright and clear. I still don't believe the magnification is anywhere near 20X but it's better than I first thought. Where I could really tell the difference was looking at the full moon. I could see so much more detail with the Firefield than with my Simmons binos.

Used primarily for nature watching. Very pleased with the magnification, and clarity for a low priced scope.

I bought this item hoping to get light and powerful scope, unfortunately I it is nowhere near 20x magnification. It has exactly same field of view as my 10x50 Celestron binoculars.Optics is great though, sharp and bright. Scope is light and seems tough enough. I would say it is worth its price. A lesson for myself - don't try to cheat by buying cheap.I would have easily given 5 stars be it 20x, as advertised.

I've used my share of spotting scopes from cheap ones at the range to a friend's 12-40x60 Leupold that cost quite a pretty penny. This is a great scope for the money. The only drawback as mentioned in another review is the "tripod". It's pretty small. I'm going to have to use a phone book or two to prop it up this weekend, but I plan to buy a different tripod soon.

It has clear optics as several others have said in their reviews. However the power is very disappointing, it is advertised as a 20 power but it is far less than that. I wanted it for in the deer stand to give me a closer look than my 10 power binoculars. It is barely more powerful than that. I would say at best they are maybe 12 power - so for what I wanted them for they are useless. If you want a good lower power spotting scope I recommend a Leupold 10-20 x 40. they are much more costly but they certainly do the job. That is what I bought after this disaster.

They love their scopes. They've wanted them for a while, but a good one was a lot of money. I did a lot of research to get the best one for the money, and I think I nailed it. All the features that reviews recommended were in this scope and the price was very reasonable for such a high-quality scope.

After checking this scope out, I rate it 4 out of 5. Great for the range and the scope is clear, small and compact. I like the carrying case that comes with it. The tripod works good. All in all it does the job.
