I wondered about the lack of details on this item's UV protection. And the super low price. Turns out, the material used is quite sheer. Definitely see-thru. Stand 6 feet from a reading lamp and hold the hat to your face. You can see the desk or chair easily. That's the entire hat excepting the brim. This isn't going to provide any real UV or sun protection. The emphasis seems to be on breathability, given the face covering.Since the only real protection is from the brim alone, this is only usable for short periods. Definitely not for extended walks or for fishing. Especially not fishing where you'll be standing in the sun near water for lengthy periods. This is really just a visor with added sheer material. However, because of that, it is cooler than most hats.Only two stars given the lack of real protection.
