Hello there, nice to meet you! ;o)The short version:GET this worthwhile, quality stainless steel flan mold!I do have a confession to make:Because of the egg shortage, I decided to save my flan (and custard) making for a later date.That said, I can tell you as an experienced baker/cook who works with a variety of quality tools, this flan mold is well made, with firmly closing latches for the lid. The handle on the lid could be welded a tad better, but it doesn't affect its use. The stainless steel is smooth, without any sharp edges to worry about. All the pieces latch together pretty well.I foresee a lot of great uses for this nifty covered 'pot.' I can see this for storing and cooking whilst camping, an ad hoc bento box for lunches and so on. Gotta say this: the possibilities are endless!It's SO nice having a great container that does have multiple uses, as well as for making terrific flans both in the oven and in my Instant Pot.I do have a teeny comment. There's a small spot of discoloration in the center of this mold, and I found the box it arrived in, had been previously opened by someone else and resealed, with a cut on the box flap. I can't tell if the spot is from manufacturing, or I received someone else's used item. Very nice stainless steel container. I don't use it to make flan, but use it to store wheels of home made cheese in. I love the fact that it latches securely on top, is simple to clean and I could even see this used as a bento box for taking lunch to work. I really like the top handle, it makes it easy to pick it up and move it around. The build quality is amazing. The pieces fit together very well, no gaps, and it's much higher quality than I was anticipating.

Quality feels durable. I like the clip lid so I can cover the pan before, after and while using. I can use it for different desserts and not having to worry about scratching the surface.

I love flan and always order it at my favorite Mexican restaurant. I've also made it over the years, using cupcake tins, but this quality and well made stainless steel pan with its clamped lid is a real game changer. I'll be saving making flan with the pan for when I have dinner guests since my husband and I are both dieting. Aside from its quality construction, I like the versatility of the pan and its size. It's a keeper and I'm happy that I was able to add it to my cooking toolbox.

Those flan more fuss my 6-quart Instant Pot perfectly! So far I have used it for a casserole. It was absolutely the right vessel for the job and washed up easily afterwards. The lid fits tightly when locked in place, and the whole unit seems very well made. Highly recommended

Pros:Stainless steel material heats evenly for consistent baking.Includes a secure-fitting lid to prevent water bath spills.Handles make lifting easy even when hot.Ideal size for flan, cheesecakes, or small puddings.Durable construction withstands oven and dishwasher use.Cons:Handles get very hot and need oven mitts for removal.Lid dents easily if stored under heavy items.Not completely leakproof without proper sealing techniques.Surface shows water spots after washing.Edges are sharp and require careful handling.

This stainless steel locking lid pan is a perfect size for making a variety of dishes. I have used it to make quiche and cheesecake, and it works beautifully. I typically cook things in smaller portions, so this 7.5 inch size is perfect. I have never made flan, but I can't wait to try it with this pan. (It is one of my favorite desserts!) It seems like nice quality stainless steel, which is my preferred material to use for cooking. I have not had any trouble with things sticking, but as with any stainless steel pan, it is always a good idea to coat the pan with a little oil. I think this is a nice value

This flan mold is a great size; it fits perfectly in my 8-quart Instant Pot. The lid fits tightly on the mold, and the clamps ensure that water doesn't seep into the container while steaming. I like the handle on the top as well to make it easier to extract the mold from the IP. Construction is solid; the stainless steel is smooth, uniform in thickness, and sturdy. The edges are nicely finished. The one thing that could be better is if the handle were not as loose as it is. When the contents of the mold is liquid (like uncooked egg), if you hold the mold by the handle, the contents sloshes around and causes the container to swing (and therefore slosh around even more). I only use the handle now to remove the mold from the IP after cooking, and not to lower it into the IP.
