These are neat little knobs which fit fine. They twist on easily and the knurls make getting a firm mount simple. I like to have things like this in my hardware collection just in case the need arises. They won't send me into bankruptcy so I ordered them. This Flat Knurled Thumb Nut (I call them "finger nuts" because they can easily be tightened with the fingers) are very useful items for anyone who has a need to mount devices which have a standard 1/4" X 20TPI mounting port to other surfaces. They allow mounting of such items easily to any standard 1/4"X20 bolt, and locking them in position. For example, one of the photos I attached to this review shows one of these nuts being used on a simple camera mount for my 3D printer. As the photo shows, the bolt is longer than the mounting hole on the camera is deep, so something is needed to keep the camera from shifting away from the desired direction I want it to be pointing. This can be done with a standard hex nut of the required size, but these finger nuts not only are easier to tighten and untighten (requiring no tools), they also have a rubber pad on top to protect the item being mounted from scratches. They really give a professional touch of class to any such project.The package comes with 5 of these nuts. They are made from aluminum with an attractive black anodized coating. The threads are smoothly cut, and the knurling is just right to give a nice grip for easy hand tightening against the item being mounted.
