This German fingering recorder hits all the notes in that classic grade school shrill tone you love and remember from childhood. While you won't be playing any concerts anytime soon you will however be getting down the basics in the arguably simpler layout people love to hate while enjoying solid plastic recorder quality. It has a lot of personality and comes with a strap, rest, a nodule of grease and cleaning rod. Instructions are fully in Chinese as are any branding and labeling but honestly all a kid needs is 10min on youtube and a little stick-to-it-iveness to get down the basics and be up and running on some classic nursery rhymes and show tunes! As for your ears while they practice... well.. you had it coming lol ;-) A+

This Flute Musical Instrument Stylish German 8 Hole Soprano Recorder Descant Recorders Music Flute with Cleaning Rod & Case Bag by play+ has a nice sound. I spent some time as a professional recorder player and wanted an instrument for a dear child to learn on. I was impressed with the sound of this instrument for the cost. It has 3 sections so you can tune it. I think the written instructions included in the kit are extremely confusing and you definitely will NEED help knowing how to play it. Go ahead and get help, it's worth it to play this wonderful instrument! I like that it is a full 9-hole soprano recorder. I think the right thumb holder and neck strap are good helpful things for new players. I like that it comes with a cleaning rod, provide your own cloth. The case is OK and should work to protect the instrument. I do like the pink accents which makes the instrument look fun. I recommend this instrument for any beginners out there, it has a lot of nice qualities for the price and for a basic plastic soprano recorder.

I am a beginner so I ordered this to learn on. This recorder seems well made and is tuned properly. It is made of plastic but still has a really good sound. It comes with a cleaning rod and a carrying bag. So far I am having alot of fun with this recorder.

Brings me back to elementary school, learning our first instrument. I wonder how many kids even have that experience these days, what with so many districts cutting music program budgets. Speaking of budgets, I have to rate this 4 stars, because it does feel very cheaply made. I can't be too mad, it's a simple recorder, in Kirby pink. But I have to note that it feels like it might break or crack if accidentally dropped from say standing height. I do like that it comes with a carrying case though, it makes for easy storage in my music bench.

Updated:At first glance, this recorder offers a pleasing experience, complete with delightful extras that captivate young hearts. Its build, while feeling somewhat insubstantial, is serviceable enough for a beginner. The sound, though not as robust as a true instrument, holds a certain clarity, making it suitable for early learning. It plays the notes accurately, allowing a child to explore without hesitation.However, after only a brief period in the hands of my children, the recorder has succumbed to wear. Its fragile construction reveals it to be more of a toy than a true instrument, unable to endure the enthusiasm of young musicians. A charming introduction, perhaps, but not a companion for the long haul.
