I have been Lighted Pier Fishing (too darn HOT, during the day and have a day job) my entire life and this is gotta be the most genius idea I have ever seen! Why? Because everyone who Pier Fishes on a reg knows that everyone else and their Mom's, if they are fortunate, have invested in a "Fixed" HUGE and HEAVY circular drop net with a gazillion feet of attached rope. Because a Fisherman has and will catch a Beast of a Fish off'em Fish Piers!Therefore, this light-weight, easy to store and easy to carry, and a 1000x tiny-er drop net is a major game changer.No kidding, this net came in it's own tiny backpack, it was all folded up, it popped open real fast and EZ, and it also came with another *mesh bag. What a freaking great deal!*I am gonna McGuy-er it and use my sons' pool noodles, modify and adjust (zip ties) and turn it into my Wade-fishing "Live-Bait Well".Seriously, what a great deal!!

Haven't tried it out yet, but looks like it will work well for pier fishing...Overall the net is made of strong materials and is plenty large enough for most fish I would be targeting...Hopefully I won't hook a big shark or ray, I don't think it's quite big enough to handle Jaws...Being my first pier net, I'm happy with this and hope to get it wet soon...The only thing I would say to improve this net would be to replace the drop line with something more substantial in length and thickness...I have a 100 ft 3/8 nylon rope that I will be using, once I have a chance to drop it in the water and cut it down to a length that will be long enough to work off the pier...I also have a 6 inch yellow float that I will attach to the bottom of the drop line the make it more visible when in the water...It's probably a good idea to add a little weight to the bottom of the net in order to get under the fish, as it is pretty light and will more than likely float rather than sink into the water...The really nice thing about this net, is that it folds up to store and transport...The ring is made of coated steel cable and after a few trys, you get a feel for the way the cable twist into a coil with the net tucked inside the coils, you just stuff it into the provided bag along with the catch bag that comes with it...And more than enough room for the larger drop line and the float I added to the kit...Definitely worth the listed price here...

I have been fishing off the skyway bridge piers at the mouth of Tampa Bay and I needed a drop net to pull up my catch. Luckily I found this net on Amazon and so far it has worked perfectly. I will say it feels much more flimsy than a normal drop net but that is due to it's packability. This thing collapses down into a very small package that can be stored just about anywhere, I stuff it into my fishing backpack and it takes up very little space which is a huge plus for me since sometimes I have to walk quite a long ways to get to some of my favorite spots. I haven't yet used it to pull up anything that was very large but I suspect it should work out just fine as it feels and appears to be made with quality materials. I use this almost exclusively in saltwater so we will have to see if it continues to hold up, so far so good and I am very happy with it.

I love this thing. It goes from being a big net that I can use at the Skyway, down to be small enough for me to put into a tiny bag for storage. Perfect for when you’re fishing off a tall bridge and don’t want to risk losing your catch while trying to reel it 25 feet up to the deck. Five stars.

I have to admit, I didn’t know anything like this existed. I’m so glad I came across it. Often we would just reel the fish up to the bridge and sometimes we would lose them. We fish off the bridges in the keys a lot and this has been a game changer. It does take some getting used to, as the currant moves, so does the net, so you have to gauge it just right and bring your fish to the net. It’s made with really good quality, it’s light weight but very durable. Overall, so pleased with this net. Highly recommend!

I picked up this foldable bridge and pier fishing net and I’m super impressed. It’s sturdy, easy to use, and folds up nicely for storage. The 32FT rope is a solid length for pier fishing, and the rubber basket is gentle on fish—perfect for catch and release. Works great in both saltwater and freshwater. Where to begin with this. ITS JUNK!!!!! The “rope” they send you could barely qualify as string. The “foldable hoop” that is connected to the net is basically a bike lock cable. I opened it and couldn’t believe what I was looking at. I would’nt trust this “net” for anything I’m fishing for.They were nice and gave me a refund after I sent the product back but WOW. This was extremely disappointing.

Great alternative to the large, rigid, traditional drop nets. I have an original one.....they're definitely hard to pack and move around. If you're on a pier or bridge, good chance you're hauling gear a good distance and although the traditional drop net it's heavy, it's big and awkward. This is a great option, also because of the price, as it's probably a 3rd of a rigid one.Only thing I plan to replace is the rope. It's really thin and going to be slick when wet. If you're pretty high up with a heavy fish, the rope won't be easy to grip. I'm not worried about this rope breaking, it's just personal preference for grip. (thicker rope would take up more storage space though, too)I was a little skeptical but I'm really surprised at how well it holds it's shape. Even if it collapses a little on itself once the fish is in....the fish is in, so it doesn't matter. Only reason I dropped a star is because I just don't think it will have the long-term survivability/longevity that a traditional drop would....it's not cheap, but it's also not exactly made of high end materials.
