In the beginning I was over the moon with these steps. However, after several uses, the second step is beginning to fail. It sags terribly. My dog Truck is a Pyrenees mix and weighs 125 lb. He has been receiving heartworm treatment. He takes steroids so his weight climbed rapidly. He is leery of the steps, but we are working with him to get more comfortable. During this process, most of his weight lands on the second step. If your dog has no issues with getting in and out of the vehicle, this likely would not be an issue. Since Truck hesitates, he rests at the second step causing his weight to impact the step. It sags and seems to be getting worse. We may have to reinforce it in such a way that it does not interfere with the folding of the steps.The steps do sit comfortably on the rear bumper or door sill without causing any damage. The "handles" have a foam like sleeve on them so that prevents scratching. The foam also prevents slipping so that is also a plus. These steps are lightweight and do fold and unfold with ease. I am very satisfied with my purchase and am sure you would be too.

You really can teach an old dog a new trick.It was a bit awkward for our senior dog to navigate the stairs but now she’s a pro.Want to save her hips from injury.Great product easy to fold up light weight but sturdy.
