I got tired of waiting for the AA batteries to recharge my Godox TT685. Sometimes it would take up to 5 seconds, which dose not seem that long, but when your photographing a wedding that can be a very long time. With this external battery pack, my flash charges almost instantly. I no long miss the shot due to the flash not being charged yet. The battery pack isn't too heavy which is nice. If you are running just one flash off the battery, you can get the Cabel with two connectors to make the flash charge even quicker.

Corrected: Works well and connects in the front of the flash for most speedlights. Pull off the black plastic 3 plug socket piece in the lower part of the front of the camera. Works great for continuous shooting. It's cheaper than quantum and works about as well. Good value for the cost. Long battery life. I was expecting to have to buy a quantum flash pack for much higher cost but was pleased when I found this unit works just as well and at a few hundred dollars less. Just plug it into the front of your SB-5000 or SB-910/900/700 and get great burst results when setting the camera to C/H (continuous high quality) ie C/H on the dial on the lower portion of the left dial

Saw another photographer using this external battery and he raved about it. I got one for myself and I have nothing but good things to say about it. The recycle time is fast and even faster with the duo cord. I have shot over 1000 pictures on TTL and haven't had the need to recharge the battery yet. You can even recharge your phone via the usb port. The cords are sturdy so I don't have to worry about them breaking. My only suggestion is redesign the DB-02 connector so it doesn't stick up so high or flop over. Otherwise this is a great external battery to have.Hint: Make sure you start with fresh batteries in your flash and carry spares!

I ordered one of these units and it didn't work on my SB800's. Returned it and got another; didn't work either. I tried two units, on two different 800's, fully charged each battery pack before use; they made NO difference in recycle times: 6 -10 seconds on full manual with old batteries - with or without the battery pack; 3 seconds with new batteries in the flash, with or without the battery pack. No idea what the problem is... could be just the cord; doesn't matter, two strikes and you're out. I'd give it zero stars if I could, for wasting my time.
