Purchased this for my 17 Silverado 2500 HD and it quit working after 3 months. Reached out to seller for a replacement and he wanted me to send proof that it wasn’t working. So I took a pic of the dash while we were driving the truck that showed “HOOD OPEN” and told him it was constantly dinging while we were driving it. I was then told it was past the 30 day return window. Thought this should last more than 3 months especially since it was more expensive than other competitors (Rock Auto, Summit Racing etc). Will not deal with this seller ever again as they don’t stand behind their products!

Worked great for the first month, but then driving in rain or snow it says hood is open. Buy a factory gm one

Bought a used 2017 Silverado 2500HD. Could not get the Remote Starter to work. After some research on YouTube and checking the fuse (was okay), I moved on to checking the resistance on the original hood latch integrated switch and it was definitely out of range. Bought this, installed it, and now my remote starter is working again! Also, sometimes when this part goes bad, the "Hood Open" warning light comes on the dash and sometimes it does not. Mine NEVER came on whether the hood was open or not until I bought this new one. Now it works as it should in both respects. Extremely happy!

Easy instal, I seen the resister videos and figure for the easy install just put a new one In, this works and fits perfectly

Purchased this for a 17 Silverado 2500HD. Pretty simple and straight forward swap out. Make sure you mark the outer edges of the old part so you can place the new one in the same spot. The manual release lever is a little more flimsy than OEM, but everything else works just fine. Main reason for this purchase was a failing hood close switch that kept my ‘Hood Open’ light on all the time. This fixed the issue. Time will tell how it holds up. Was quite a hit cheaper than OEM.

Couldn't be happier with this product, the shipping and the cost. My trucks hood latch (sensor) went bad back in the spring. The annoying "hood open" warning got the better of me so i hot wired it so the warning would not come on. I didn't realize the remote start was disabled with the 3rd wire. For $50 and 10 min ti.e, I ha e remote start again and just in time for winter 😀. I can't speak for how long it'll last but it works at the moment.

Replacing this latch on is common for these trucks. Bought this replacement, put it on, and a sigh of relief. I now have the hood open alert gone from the display and the remote start works again. Called the dealership and they had nothing in stock and couldn’t tell me when they’d get one In. Found this one and it worked great. Take a pair of pliers and gently squeeze the cable on your hood release and it’ll pop right out.
