Team red batteries on team yellow tools? What kind of blasphemy is that? It's not -- it's about making the most of what one has already. If one has a bunch of M18 batteries already, there's no need to invest in a different battery platform for that odd tool. BTW, it doesn't matter that one calls itself 18V and the other 20V; 3.6V per cell is the nominal voltage, 4.0V per cell is the peak voltage. Multiply them by 5 cells, and that's where the voltages come from.Fitment is fine on both sides. As both platforms rely on the tool for battery cutoff, I cannot vouch that this will properly do such. If one notices the performance diminishing, it's best to stop. Also this will not allow one to charge M18 batteries on a yellow charger; it's for running the tools only. Beyond these aspects, it works just fine. 5 stars.

This M18 to M12 Milwaukee battery adapter is amazing. Some of my older M12 Milwaukee batteries do not last very long anymore, but I have many good M18 batteries, so I decided to try this adapter instead of buying new M12 batteries. This item is simple to use, you attach it to a M18 battery, then insert the M12 fitting into your M12 tool. It powers right up, just as if you attached a M12 battery. The adapter plastic feels somewhat cheap, not as sturdy of plastic as used on Milwaukee tools, but it does not seem to effect the usage. Actually it lessens the weight a bit, which is good since your using heavier M18 batteries.I only have a few M12 tools anymore (mostly lights, a pump, and a small saw), but now I can save money by using the better M18 batteries I already have, instead of purchasing new M12's.This is a great adapter!

This is a great little battery adapter that solves the problem of having a Dewalt tool with the wrong kind of battery - in my case, a Milwaukee battery. This adapter is pretty slim and lightweight, only weighing a few ounces and adding about 2 inches of thickness to a tool+battery assembled. It's easy to attach to the tool and battery just as if you were attaching the right items together, and it's easy to detach too in exactly the same way. It's well-made, primarily out of plastic, and it holds up well to bumps and drops so it's not going to come apart on you. It doesn't change the speed or power of the tool, and it doesn't affect how long it works - it just makes the battery fit the tool correctly. As for the downsides, it doesn't work for charging and you can't charge a battery through it; this only works between a tool and battery. Additionally, if you're really particular about your tool size, the extra 2 inches of size will probably bother you, but there's not really anything that can be done about that from a design perspective. In my case, I chose the Milwaukee 18v battery to DeWalt 20v tool, adapter, as I have a Milwaukee battery and charger but also a DeWalt tool. It works perfectly, and I'm getting regular use out of it.* I only review things that I personally use myself on a regular and continued basis.* I always give my full, honest, unbiased and unfiltered opinion on everything I review.* I will not hold back or avoid describing any issues I have with a product.* I write exactly what I think about things - the good, the bad, the ugly, and the questionable.* If I get multiple of something it's because I regularly use and need both of them.* And, I will update my review if something breaks, stops working as intended, or otherwise doesn't hold up as expected.

I have quite a few tools that are ridgid like my circular saw and I didn't see the point of buying another Milwaukee one. Reason I bought this was because there wasn't too much power with the ridgid saw but man let me tell you this gives some serious power. I used it to work on my shelving in the container. It works well I've used it for a day now. I did smell some burning in the beginning when I used it which is why i'm giving it 4 stars.

I recently added the M12 to M18 Milwaukee battery adapter to my toolkit, and it's been a game-changer. As someone who owns both M12 and M18 tools, this adapter has allowed me to use my M18 batteries with my M12 tools, providing extended runtime without the need to purchase additional batteries. The adapter is well-built, with a sturdy design that ensures a secure connection between the battery and the tool. It's also lightweight and compact, making it easy to carry around in my toolbox. Since using this adapter, I've noticed a significant improvement in the performance of my M12 tools, as they now run longer and more efficiently. Overall, I highly recommend this adapter to anyone looking to maximize the versatility of their Milwaukee tools.

This simple designed adapter saves so much trouble! It is made from durable plastic. The Makita side of the adapter fits perfectly into the tool. The Milwaukee side of adapter is a little bit more snug but probably by design. Both ends lock into place for a secure fit during use.I like this adapter because as I transition from one brand to another, I have a lot of tools that now are interchangeable. Also I'm guaranteed to always have a charged battery available. To my surprise the adapter also has a built in USB charger! That's always a nice touch.Overall, this adapter functions exactly as it should. Because it's 3rd party the fit is good but not exact like the tool manufacturers'. This will certainly solve my homeowner problem, and handle the use for years to come. In a professional setting, it would make the tool clumsy and probably have a shorter lifespan.
