This was truly a surprise. It is solid hard plastic and portable, the legs have a magnetic piece where it connects to the base. It is secure, sturdy and easy to take apart for travel. Love it.

We plan to travel with our Starlink so we bought this stand. The stand is well made and easy to put together. Packing it up is a breeze. It is not as heavy as we had thought it would be but husband believes it will work great and not have issues in the wind.

This is a well designed little stand. It weighs nothing and takes up minimal space when disassembled. Assembly itself (or disassembly) takes a few seconds, as the parts snap into place with magnets.It is very lightweight, so it may be tippy in high wind (the wind isn’t cooperating with my testing, unfortunately). It does have convenient holes at the end of each leg, so I am going to pack some tent pegs with it just in case.The description of the product in this listing states that the stand is made of ASA (acrylonitrile styrene acrylate), which is a thermoplastic polymer. However, the item specifications indicate the material is “aluminum.” I am not a materials expert, but this appears to be a very sturdy plastic, not aluminum.I am thrilled with the packability of this stand and am looking forward to using it this spring when camping season starts up again.

If you are looking for a smaller, lighter and much easier to transport base for your Gen 2, this is it. It assembles in seconds and is strong enough to easily support the dish.The one downside is that it is much lighter than the original stand, so the dish will be more suseptible to wind blowing it over.Outside of that, I am super happy with this stand.
