The Forney 42293 5356 Aluminum MIG welding wire features 5-Percent magnesium content and a bright finish. It flows freely and provides less "bird-nesting" on push-type MIG welders. Applications include diesel engine bases, truck frames, cargo tanks and gun mount bases. Light gray color coding on label. As soon as I installed it in my spool gun and fed the wire through the liner, roller, and out the tip, the whole spool unraveled. Never had this problem with any other wire. Maybe this wire wasn't meant for my style spool gun, but I doubt that, maybe it was a bad spool. In any case I bought a different brand but same size spool and electrode type from the local weld supply store for $4 cheaper and it was perfect.

It welds great. for best results turn up the heat, turn down the speed. This stuff takes some power to melt but has incredible strength.
