NICETECH ER309L is similar to 309 but contains an average of .02% carbon (max of .03%) to provide a weld deposit that will offer good resistance against intergranular corrosion caused by carbide precipitation.

NICETECH ER309L is preferred over 309 for cladding over carbon or low alloy steels, as well as for dissimilar points that undergo heat treatment.
