Easy to install an works verry well with EvoStart. With evostart you can control by phone a lot of functions of your car.

My package came with a code card that gave me free access to downloading the instructions for installing. So, I was presented with a page allowing me to look at some terrible photos of some connectors and wires without any relation to vehicles. Also a link to 9 different pdf instruction sets. The instructions were all for my vehicle but were all different. It took a long time just to compare connectors with the diagrams to eliminate some. But there were still two different instruction sets to print and guess which one applied. These are not actual instructions. Just diagrams and you have to guess that you need to do to make your wiring look the same as theirs. Then after all the installing it did not work. Nothing. Not even a click or dash lights coming on or anything. Thankfully the key still started the vehicle. I watched about 8 Youtube videos and compared all the diagrams I now had on hand. It should work but it does not. The vehicle is heading north to the Yukon in two days. If I don't have it running by then the parts will come out and get sent back to Amazon.I have posted in the online forums for the product and I hope to receive help quickly but tomorrow is Sunday and I hold no hope. The weekend is not a good time to need something installed and working.Don't believe anything about instructions. If you have read this far then you are doing your research first like I did and found nothing. There is nothing in the box either folks. Even the videos show most people don't use any of the features except the start. I would be happy to have that. Period. I have linked my key to the device several times. That whole procedure works. It is something in the wiring that is not right.Check the date on my unit. It says Oct 2018. This is Jan 1, 2022 I am typing this. No updates or new units since 2018?! The two instructions that seem to match are Jan 2019 and Jan 2020.After a full wasted day I am very frustrated and mad.

Really impressed start to finish! Owner called me after I ordered to ensure I had the right unit for my vehicle (I didn't) so he switched it for me and didn't charge me the difference. He pre-programmed the unit for my vehicle too! Once it arrived the set up was a bit confusing for me so I brought it to my brother in law who is more apt with cars, and he had it installed within an hour. It works great on our 2017 Dodge Grand Caravan and we would highly recommend the product. Thanks again!

Total waste of money even bought the flash tool to flashed it for my truck and nothing. Had a buddy of mine who does remote starters and he couldn't get it to work and i am licensed automotive tech so i know what i'm doing. Would never sugest this to anyone go pay the big bucks and get them to do it. But on plus side made a good hockey puck because thats all it's worth and nothing more. DON'T BUY

Bought this for 2008 Dodge Durango with Hemi. After reading several reviews here as well as other forums I decided to buy this for my wife's Durango. Having owned my own repair shop for several years I had come to hate aftermarket remote starters and most remote install shops. They hack the wiring harness which causes intermittent issues down the road. I've removed dozens and dozens of hack systems due to drivability issues. When I couldn't get an OEM remote I searched until I came upon this unit. For my application it comes with a "T" wiring harness that integrates with the vehicles wiring system. Just unplug the factory harness at the key and this plugs inline. There was NO wire splicing of the factory harness! I did have to splice two pair of wires within the supplied wiring harness (yellow to yellow, purple to green with red stripe) but that was super easy. Removing 3 #20 torq head screws from the steering column allowed me access the the factory ignition immobilizer connection. I chose to remove the immobilizer box with one phillps screw underneath and the right of the key and gently releasing the two plastic clips at the 2 O'clock and 7 O'clock position around the key lock cylinder. This gave me easy access to the wiring clip release which is on the back side of the harness when plugged in and almost impossible to access. I fished the T harness up the left side of the steering column from under the dash and then under the steering shaft so I could plug into the factory harness. Re-assembled everything. Taped up all the unused wires (approx 30 wires) in to a bundle. Programmed the EVO module per directions for Stand Alone Remote Start and was successful 1st try. I chose to keep all the wires full length instead of clipping them in case I want to add a long range or cellular remote start option. Lastly I located the wiring bundle and EVO module under the knee bolster near the ebrake with one zip tie (I supplied) to an used bracket. Total time for install was approx an hour. I could now do it in 20 minutes if I had another to do.I will be buying another one shortly for my 07 Wrangler.NOTE: I planned on buying at least one more of these for my 2007 Wrangler so I also bought the $50 programmer. This allows me to custom set up features in each EVO module including setting up the specifics for the vehicle. I DID need it as my Durango module was NOT pre-programmed as a stand alone remote starter for my vehicle. However unlike some other sellers that supposedly program for your vehicle, EB said I would need the programmer.

Be sure to order from Car Alarm Depot because you will need to have this unit programmed as a STAND-ALONE remote starter unit using a Flash Link Updater (which you would otherwise have to purchase, but never seems to get mentioned by any vendors except Car Alarm Depot). The reason I say this is because Car Alarm Depot WILL pre-program the unit with their Flash Link Updater for your vehicle. Other vendors on here have not been telling their customers this little tidbit of information causing them to have to pay another $60 for the Flash Link Updater piece. That being said, this product is just so great and comes at an unbelievable price point compared to the Factory Mopar kit which can run anywhere up to $500 and which may or may not include labor to install. This kit here comes with a simple tiny black box unit, a main harness with 5 connectors (2 big connectors that plug into the Jeep, 1 red connector that plugs into the unit, 1 black connector that plugs into the unit, and a bundle of white connectors of which ONLY 1 will fit that plugs into the unit), and a single 20-pin connector that also plugs into the unit. Unfortunately, you will have to splice a single yellow wire from that 20-pin connector to the single yellow wire on the main harness. But, there's only one yellow wire in the whole bundle, which made it easy to find even for a colorblind person such as myself, for a grand total of 6 connectors on the main harness when all is said and done. So, you will have a total of 4 connectors from the main harness plugged into the remote starter unit and the remaining 2 connectors plugging straight into the Jeep's OEM connectors that are already present. Of course, there's a little procedure when plugging all the connectors (i.e., hold a button down and wait for blue light, then plug the rest...). But, it's all really simple and there are videos all over YouTube to show you how simple it is. Plus, Car Alarm Depot is very responsive to your concerns via email. You'll have no worries there.Anyway, this took me about 15 minutes. The hardest part was removing the OEM Jeep connector so I could plug it into the main harness. But, I am so glad I did this because now I can start my Jeep up in the morning and it stays locked while I'm inside getting ready. Then, I can leave for work in this freezing winter and have a nice, warm, and defrosted Jeep ready for battle duty. I can't wait for summer so I can do the same with the A/C during the intense heat.

I purchased this from the seller Car Alarm Depot. I was told on forums this was the seller to buy from because they come flashed for your model make and year. Well I contacted seller and got a quick response and ordered. A few days later the Fortin showed up and I installed. Due to my Jeep being an 08, plug and play wasn't an option and had to splice two of the yellow wires and solder together to make work. Well after a few days of using, the Jeep started to start really rough then a day or two later the keyless start stopped working all together. After completely pulling the Fortin, I contacted Car Alarm Depot a few times about the problem and finally got a response that THEY DON'T ACCEPT RETURNS OR REIMBURSEMENT FOR PRODUCT ONCE INSTALLED OR ALTERED (you have to splice wires once again to make work... This isn't plug and play...so you have to alter) If you don't care about your Jeep and want to put faith in a $97 product that messes with your computer and wiring of Jeep have fun. I wouldn't recommend this product to anyone and wouldn't recommend buying from Car Alarm Depot. Glad my only option is to contact Fortin and I'm out basically $100.UPDATE: I spoke with a Fortin direct this morning, and this was the main part of emailWe do not replace any units unless bought directly from our web site!^Just one more reason not to waste your money^
