I had the misfortune of breaking mine a few years ago, and had a cracked lid for many moons, and was so frustrated with the performance of my fresh roast that I almost got rid of it to buy a new roaster. However, after replacing the lid, the thermal conductivity went up, significantly giving me more control, and or consistency in roast profiles, and I decided to keep it. It’s definitely worth the money to get a new one.

I have an SR800, for which the top had broken when dropped while cleaning. I tried epoxy and other fixes but the high heat just broke down the adhesives and tapes.this replacement cap fit perfectly and worked just as the old cap worked. My roasting profiles haven't changed. And it is easier to clean than the old cap with the screen chaff filter.I'm happy with the purchase.

My original cap had black plastic studs with internal retaining rings that held on the screen. A couple of the studs broke after about a year and I decided to replace the cap since I didn't know if the plastic studs were winding up in my coffee. The new cap has the screen mounted with stainless steel screws which looks more secure and can be removed more easily in order to clean it if necessary.

Bought to replace the original, which had chips. Once chipped, coffee bean chaff blew all over the place. The new one fits well and I'll treat it much more gently than I treated the original. The lip on these things chips easily. Don't bang it against anything and keep it out of the dishwasher.

Perfect replacement for my old SR roaster. The previous version of this lid used a wire-mesh that, if the edges ever broke, the wires would start poking and cutting at my hands. This lid is newer and uses a solid metal disc that removes the old risk.

The two halves of the replacement chaff catcher do not fit together properly. Bottom part sold separately. That piece may be the problem; or it is this top piece.
