I ordered this, because the stock battery pack in the 818 just dies, with the radio off. Even with a full charge it only last maybe 45 minutes, running FT8 during a POTA Activation. Then, it takes 10 hours to charge. Unacceptable in 2023. Buy this battery for three reasons:1. Extended life. It's not going to run your 818 twice as long, but it gave me 1:15 on FT8 tonight, with a full charge.2. It takes 90 minutes to charge completely after running it nearly flat. That's a winner in my book.3. You can turn it off, without taking the cover off and disconnecting the battery. That's just annoying. When you need it, turn the battery on, with the conveniently positioned switch, and start to work.Do NOT buy it if:1. You expect it to last hours and hours between charges. It won't! Buy a decent LifePro4 battery and call it a winner. The EcoWorthy 10Ah battery is cheap, and DOES last hours on the 818. Heck, it lasts hours on my 857, as long as I turn down the power to a reasonable level (maybe 20 Watts).Note: I do find it annoying that the bracket stand doesn't work correctly, if you've installed the WindCamp PowerPole adapter. And almost everybody I know has installed that, to make up for the shoddy design of the 818's power socket.

The battery and charger work great. I am really happy I am getting the full 6w out of my 818 while keeping it's regular package size. The stand is nice as well. I am happy with this purchase!

This is the second time I've purchased this battery setup. First was for my 817 and the fir my 818. Both function great. However, the most recent set didn't fit as well as the 1st. The cover seems to not sit as flush as it should. It would be nice if the supplies wall cord was a bit longer. This newest set came with a nice stand. I haven't used the stand so I can't really comment. All in all both set work really well and I'm pleased with the improved battery life and output.

This came well packaged although shipping took over a month it was easy to fit, the instructions were a bit vague especially the charging section but it was easy to work through. The top plate is a bit tight to fit so you need to make sure all of the wires are safely located before you shut the lid. This is the battery Yaesu should have used I have not checked it for battery longevity as I have only just received it but at 3000 mah I am sure it will be fine

The battery is great, the charger is lightweight, and a big plus is having the metal battery door with the hard power switch. The Yaesu battery door has a tendency to break its latch "ring" but the metal door from wind camp is strong. The hardware power switch is great because otherwise the Yaesu software power switch will drain the battery. Without the wind camp switch one must disconnect the battery after each use--what a pain. The only negatives to this setup is that it is not a LiFePo4 battery (safer) and the dc socket on the door dosent have a rubber cover for dust/dirt. How come Yaesu couldn't make lithium setup and neither could Elecraft with the KX3!

Purchased last summer and just got to install and use it in the last few weeks. I have used it on a number of trips mobile just using this battery and it has done the job. It gives me 5 watts on battery with the FT817ND by default until the voltage drops and then it drops to 2.5 Watts which is the default for the original NiCAD battery. It holds up far better than the original battery ever did.I've seen a number of unfavorable comments about charger failure and the difficulty of getting a replacement. I have not received it yet but I have on order a MOBILE charger that takes 12v to 24v source voltage to charge similar batteries on a slow charge. I will update when I have received and tested it, try it at your own risk but I believe it should work nicely Here is the link:https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01FQBMYSS/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1The supplier also has several nice stand alone rechargeable lithium batteries with charges light enough to use in your go bag for portable operation with much higher amp hour ratings than an internal battery could be. Bought one but have not tested it yet...The little stand would be fine but I have added an Anderson Pole adapter to the power plug in the back and the stand has a support where the adapter goes. The power plug setup on the FT817 is too fragile to go back to without the adapter so I am still looking for legs to support it instead.Good DX my friends!

I like having a decent battery in my 817 now and a matched charger for it. Not crazy about all the RFI that it generates while charging, but they do specify that ahead of time. I'm expecting great service from this and happy that I got it.[UPDATE] Now just short of two years later, this battery pack has failed. One cell is defective and renders the whole pack useless. Total recharge cycles have been approx. 20-25 times. But just to confirm, while working, this product was exceptional and made my FT-817 much more useful to me. I will probably purchase a replacement from these same people.

The product is great, however I'm very concerned by the supplied charger. Firstly it's an EU 2 pin one (I've got adapters), but most importantly it's not CE marked which makes it illegal to sell or supply in the EU. Obviously I'll have to take this up with Amazon directly, but buyer beware.
