Function
A gas tank heat shield is an protection to keep the grill gas tank from the high temperatures. A grill heat shield withstands high temperatures, and substantially reduces the amount of heat that passes through to reduce dangerous levels.
When the grill heat up, your gas tank would be in danger of getting too hot. As long as the gas tank is covered by the heat shields, it will be reduced accordingly the heat source around it.

It’s is adjustable but a little tricky to get just right and in place. Front screws are difficult to attach.

Not too much to say about this heat shield other than it works. Our old grill had a rotten heat shield after spending a few years outside. We decided this year to re-vamp the grill instead of buy a new one and overall I'm very happy with how it turned out. We replaced the grates, the emitters, and the heat shield and its performing like a new grill.
