The locking switch dies not lock in the open position! Sometimes IT FLIPS TO THE LOCKED POSITION WHILE YOU ARE CUTTING A PATCH IF BRANCHES. THE SWITCH AS IT IS CALLED IN THE INSTRUCTIONS NEEDSCTO HAVE A LOCK IN THE CUTTING POSITION, INSTEAD OF ALLOWING THE SWITCH TO FLOP AROUND.THERE IS NO MENTION ABOUT USING THE T HANDLE WRAPPING THE CORD, FOR VARIOUS CUTTING LENGTHS.

I have done my own trimming for many years, many-enough that this lopper-saw is a replacement. Its reach is a little shorter than others I have used; however, I find it adequate. Less length means less pole weight, no flex and no inclination to overbalance. Also, the pole telescopes so that the trimmer, including attached saw, stores at only 4.5'.

This is my first pole saw, and seems a pretty decent one! I was able to use it to prune some dead branches off the tree in my backyard.Be aware the saw does not reciprocate by pulling on the string, only the tree pruner does. I feel the description isn't terribly clear on that. So there's a little notch below the saw area that you can put over a tree branch, and then pull the string to cut through. This was effective at removing some branches and I was quite proud of myself! However the saw is fixed tot he handle. So you have yourself a long handle with a saw on it. I found it nearly impossible to get enough leverage to get that to work well. And you're going to want to remove the saw blade for the pruning, because it seriously gets in the way.The blade needs to come with a better sheath. It comes with a silicone sheath that is fairly flexible and very small, so one it comes off I couldn't get it back on for the life of me. I'm needing to craft up some sort of a sheath replacement for safety.

This extendable pole saw with pruning device works well and is easy to use. The pulley system for the pruner works well but the nuts were on too tight when I first got it so it wasn't opening back up after pulling on the string to close it. I just loosened the lock nut a bit and it works great now. The pruning blade is sharp and works well on branches up to 3/4 inch or so. The saw attaches firmly to the top and I had no trouble cutting branches that were pretty far up by extending the pole. The pole locks into position and is very easy to adjust compared to the old screw lock type poles. it extends up to 7 feet and provides decent reach for smaller trees and shrubs. It's really good quality overall and seems built to last. If anything breaks, it looks like it can be fixed or replaced. The pole is aluminum which makes it light but the cutting parts are steel and very durable. No complaints, this is a big improvement over the old hand me down pole saw I have been using for about 20 years now.
