We were so disappointed in this pole saw. It was very lightweight, but the aluminum bends SO easily, there is no way you can use this pole saw at its full extension. We didn't even use it at its full extension (had 3 pieces left) and tried to cut a very small branch. The branch was able to be sawed through after some time, but the rods bent so easily. There is a lot of play in the rod once put together and I worried it would bend just by its own weight. Ultimately, we were unhappy and ordered another pole saw set that was much more sturdy.

The vendor took 15 days from the date this was ordered to actually ship the product. From then on it was the normal fast service, just 2 days to actually arrive to me.This was received from the vendor in a branded box. The contents & a short instruction sheet were all stored inside a net type carrying bag, that has a closure you can pull tight & lock with a little keeper. The saw is about as long as the storage bag, & they ship it with a fairly thick plastic protective cover over it to help you keep from cutting yourself before you even get it put together.Basically there are 10 sections and the saw. Those 10 rod sections you can screw together to extend the saw out about 21 feet. 7 sections are just “plain” rods with a male screw side & a female screw side. One section has a starting end (no female end) with a grab area on it.Another section also has a grab area on it.Then the last section connects to the saw itself (rather than connects to another rod). The sections are sturdy but light weight, the saw itself looks sharp & it is a substantial size — enough to tackle fairly large tree limbs. The metal does not appear to be cheap but looks like it should hold up & last a while. It really seems well thought out & it doesn’t take up near as much room as you’d think once all disconnected & back in its carrying bag.We got this to try to cut some overhanging branches maybe 3-4 inches around, maybe 12-15 feet up high. This device should just about reach & with some elbow grease we should be able to cut the branches away.We did finally get to try this, and it does live up to expectations. You still have to do a lot of work — & the saw being extended out isn’t the easiest thing to try to manage. However, there is a nice tradeoff not needing to get up on a ladder or work from a truck bed.It worked well for us, and even after cutting thru at least a dozen branches, the teeth look and behave sharp enough for another run. This product seems to be a good value and does what you’d expect any extension saw should do.

As he's gotten older, my husband has sometimes been reluctant to climb too high on the ladder to be able to trim the higher branches on the tree/bush that's been by our front door since we bought the place in the 1980s--standing high on the ladder was no problem back then, but now he's less steady sometimes. So I thought this 21ft-reach compact extension pole & saw for tree trimming would be helpful for him, and he agreed. He appreciated the convenient mesh bag that holds all the pieces securely and conveniently in one place so that, when not in use, he can just hang it in the garage near his other garden tools. He also found the saw to work effectively on some of the lower dead branches that were within reach as he stood on the ground and that had needed pruning for a while. He tried the extensions and found them still to feel secure when he used them to reach into the higher areas of the tree although he didn't need at this point to cut any of those higher branches off. He did find that when he was using the hand saw, as he showed me, he of course had to position it in just the right angle for it to work appropriately. But when he initially opened the package, he was surprised to find that the box containing the mesh bag had obviously been opened before because one of the cardboard tabs was torn as one sometimes tears it as opening, and, when he took all the parts out of the mesh bag, he saw that the product had clearly been used before: there was some dirt on the base of the blade although it was mostly cleaned off. So someone may have gotten this particular one before and returned it, and then we were sent it when I ordered it as a Vine member. He wasn't too dismayed at receiving a used product, but we both agreed that it should have been labelled as such in the product description or on the box itself. It's a decent enough saw for his needs at least.

This is a good, middle of the line pruning saw. I like that it comes in a convenience, mesh pouch for easy storage. The pole segments attached easily and securely, and the entire saw pole is lightweight once assembled. The saw is sharp and was indeed able to saw through the 1 and 2 inch branches that I was cutting out of my pine tree. However, any force exerted on the pool when sawing makes the pole bend, and it feels very flimsy. I was able to cut my branches, but they were quite dead, and the wood was not very dense. If you are looking for a extension pruning saw to use to clear out larger or thicker branches then this is not the one for you. This is good for light work, but not much else.
