Broke after 3 seconds on some not that hard ice. Just drive to your local big box and get a real one.

I liked the Smarkey Garden Shovel because it was a good tool to scrape off ice on concrete after a big freeze this last winter. I also liked that this tool can also be used for a floor cleaning scraper or a snow shovel ice scraper. I liked how easy it was to assemble and this tool can also be used as a weed removal tool with three (3) sections to create a 47" long handle with flat shovel blade for removing weeds or moss on sidewalks. This tool is made from a lighter gauge Stainless Steel. The Smarkey shovel's dimensions is 17.5" Length x 6" Height x 1.5" Width with a weight of 1.13 Kilograms. The term, 'heavy duty' used to describe this tool is a little misleading, because in my experience, it's not as sturdy or strong as that phrase suggests and that's why I am giving it four stars. I do recommend this tool to others with that one caveat.

This is a sturdy tool. It has a sharp blade that cuts through ice and snow with ease. It has a sturdy handle that doesn’t bend when you need to apply pressure. The handle is a lighter metal material. The blade is a sturdy metal with a sharp edge. I have not tried it on the yard yet. I did use it on the ice and snow. I was able to break the ice on the sidewalk easily. It seemed to be a much less difficult task with this tool. It seems to be a well made tool and I was super happy with how well it worked for me.

This little tool truly delivers on all its promises! The handle's ability to come apart makes it super convenient for storage, while the heavy-duty head handles everything from scraping ice to tackling tough yard work with ease. It's sturdy, efficient, and versatile. Definitely glad I found this gem—it’s been a game-changer for maintaining my driveway and yard. Highly recommend!

I got this for my new apartment building after learning that the maintenance people don't do much in the way of snow and ice removal around the sidewalks and front of the building. It's really easy to put together, and I like that I can disassemble it for easy storage between seasons -- a storage bag or box would be really handy, though. The blade feels nice and sharp, and the whole thing seems sturdy and durable. I'm really hoping that this thing holds up for at least a few seasons, because it's really helpful to have.

Got this to scrape the floors at our wedding venue renovation, and it is doing the job so far. The handle is very heavy and solid and screws together into a very hefty unit. The headpiece, that is, the sharp end, is actually very, very sharp. Like a knife. It's probably too sharp for things like snow removal on a roof only because it would probably dig into the tiles if you have asphalt, or scratch things if you have metal. However, that sharpness is good when removing old floor tiles, glue, drywall blobs, paint and oil on smooth concrete, etc. The threaded connector between the shaft and the handle may eventually be a weak point as it is relatively slender, but for now it is holding up with no complaints. Very useful tool.
