Finally, someone figured out how to make the perfect garlic press none of the pieces come undone from each other and itโs very easy to clean. Stainless steel makes it feel heavy and like itโll last a long time.

PROS:> stainless steel, sturdy in use and likely durable> ergonomic size and shape of handles> easy to press> easy to clean lower half of device: the mincing grate with lift-out tabCONS:> difficult to clean upper half of device: pad which presses garlic down and its hinges do not lift out> at the bend of lift-out tab, width is cut slightly wider to prevent lift-out tab of garlic basket from pushing down past the upper edges of lower handle sides, but after the first use, just the pressure to press the garlic through the grate is ALWAYS enough to cause the tab to slip down and get stuck between lower handle sides and require a screwdriver to pry loose after EACH press> gaps between side edges of mincing grate and lower handle sides and big gap at open front end under lift-out grate hinge allow garlic to push out without being properly minced; if you want squashed garlic just use the side of a knife, don't need this contraption> Amazon page diagram, obviously WRONG, claims 1.9in width, .97in length for the mince grate area; but actually 15/16in (0.9375 in) width, outside dimension of lower handle at front end; 12/16in (0.75 in) width and 1 9/16in (1.5625 in) length of bottom mince grate plate from front edge to bend of lift-out tab; and 11/16in (0.6875 in) wide by 1 4/16in (1.25 in) long actual mince grate area. So the claimed "LARGE CAPACITY" for "couple of medium cloves" is medium capacity at best. Since I often prepare large amounts with lots of garlic, I typically require 3 or 4 applications of a screwdriver to pry up the stuck mince grate tab with each use--tedious.Due to illness during first half of January, I didn't have occasion to discover these major functional flaws before expiration of very short return period deadline. Very over-priced for some many faults. BOO-HISS to both manufacturer (flawed device) and Amazon (poor "grab the money and run" return service policy).Do NOT recommendWould NOT buy againUPDATE:I discovered another, importantPRO:> comes with a 5 year warranty, which does work!Although I had missed the Amazon product return deadline, I had chosen the Coolkits brand of Garlic Press from among several very similar other brands because of their advertised 5 year warranty. Since I couldn't make my press work properly, I began to search for the contact information of the seller, Elevate Mall; but before I could contact them, they contacted me through the Amazon-mediated anonymous buyer-seller email exchange and asked how they could make the issues I faced right again. I replied either refund or product exchange. They tried to execute the product exchange but since the return/exchange deadline had passed, Amazon would not process that option. They considered but could not just send me another press, because all their inventory was held and managed by Amazon, who would not send another without further payment. Finally, they just issued me a complete refund for the cost of the garlic press.Sometimes problems happen in online purchasing. But the next best thing to receiving a product you like and fulfills your needs, is dealing with a vendor who is pro-active and forthright in addressing buyer issues, offers a warranty which they honor, and provides a fully satisfactory solution. Elevate Mall did all that for me on their own initiative. Most reviewers seem very happy with their purchase. The product certainly seemed like a great fit for my needs, but my item was faulty. But I surmise that most people will continue to find it very helpful. And if you're among the few who have problems, at least Elevate Mall will honor their own 5 year warranty and overcome Amazon's own limitations. Best wishes for your purchase.

I resisted spending this much on a garlic press for a long time, but I have some arthritis in my hands and my old press with a single hinge point was becoming too hard use. Smashing garlic cloves with the side of a knife was also painful. This press is much easier to squeeze due to the double hinge design. It's a little fussy to clean but if you rinse it immediately after you use it it's not too bad. Happy!

I have contemplated purchasing a garlic press for a long, long time but didn't want one that wasted food. Not did I want a cheap one that didn't perform, or fell apart, or that corroded.* If you are sitting on the fence, this may be the press for you. I use mine almost daily. The design makes it easy to clean and easy to use. It accepts both small and large cloves. Yes, there really is no need for removing the paper from the garlic clove. (It actually works better with the paper still on it.) Even with my dominate hand weak from injury, I am still able to press the garlic by using both hands. The price was less than many others presses available, leaving me to be skeptical, but this tool is made well. (After pressing, take out the paper and rinse well and it will be easier to clean when you wash dishes.) * Many kitchen gadgets just take up space in my kitchen and really aren't necessary. Chopping garlic is doable, but I can't believe I waited so long to purchase this.

I never imagined writing a review for a garlic press. But I needed a new garlic press as my old one broke. I seemed to have smashed it a little too hard and it just fell apart. Not being very strong person, I was shocked but I searched the internet for a higher quality one and boy did I find it.This baby is solid! Itโs easy to clean and there is no plastic tool to keep track of. It minces garlic in a flash. Big cloves, small cloves, skin on, skin off, one clove, two cloves, it doesnโt matter. This thing will smash through it all!

This press uses a cammed lever/plunger design, which multiplies your squeezing efforts, making the press crush cloves with relative ease, especially compared to the cheaper hinged versions. The steel is of good quality, the finish is nice, and the grate swings out for easy cleaning. However, if you have larger (not necessarily pudgy, but physically large) hands, be cautious of the handles pinching the pad of your hand. First time I squeezed it all the way, I instantly invented new curse words that would make a sailor blush. Donโt worry, though - I wrote them down for use at a later time, when the situation may require it. ๐คฃBe that as it may, Iโm quite pleased with the purchase. Just like with pretty much everything in life, when you learn to use something, it becomes easier and more natural with every subsequent application. In this case, I learned to properly adjust my grip; pinching is no longer a concern!
