My reason for getting a new gas cap is perhaps a bit "first world problem". The only thing wrong with the OEM gas cap was the tether broke. Not a big deal, truly... Except that one time out of 50 where you drop the thing, it clatters under the car, and now you're kneeling in snow while the guy behind you honks.So does it work? So far yes, but a little weird. OEM cap screwed easily all the way in, then there was a solid, satisfying, very positive CLICK.With this replacement, it starts getting (softly) tighter halfway through, even softly clicks before it's fully seated.This may be just the result of a fresh, new gasket.¯_(ツ)_/¯I'm torquing the thing down until it won't go anymore. It fits, it works, and importantly it's once again tethered to the car.If I have any check engine lights or other issues I'll come back to complain.
