These items are metric, not SAE standard measurements. The bolt holes are not half inch in the plate. The holes in the loops are not 5/8 inch. WARNING

These are well made and very sturdy. When matched with the male portion are very smooth even under very heavy load. I use 2 to hold a very heavy 8 foot wide 6 tall wood gate. It moves with one finger.I downgraded a star due to the difficulty getting the male and female portion to line up after they are installed on the gate. A little taper would be helpful. If you can find a male portion that is extra long and has a lot of taper, it will make it easier.
