About this item

  • 🔬 Grounding Tester for Earthing & Conductivity – This grounding tester checks if earthing devices like mats, sheets, and wristbands are conductive. Touch the probes to the material—if the light turns on, it conducts electricity. Note: This is a conductivity tester, not a grounding verification tool.
  • ⚡ Quick & Easy Grounding Mat Tester – No need for a grounding tester meter or plug-ins! Just remove the cap, touch the prongs to your grounding mat, and get instant results. Works for grounding sheets, mats, and other earthing products.
  • 🔋 Battery-Powered Ground Tester for Earthing – Comes with 3 pre-installed LR41 batteries, ready to use. Simple cap removal allows for easy battery replacement.
  • 🛠️ Compact & Portable Grounding Meter Alternative – Small, lightweight, and perfect for quick checks at home or while traveling. Ideal for testing grounding mats, sheets, and wristbands.
  • 🔍 Grounding Tester for Grounding Mats & Safety Info – This conductivity tester only checks if a material is conductive, not if your outlet is grounded. Not for use on live electrical circuits.

This is NOT a continuity tester. It only tells you if the item will conduct electricity. You touch the grounding item and the light will come on but doesn't tell you if it's grounded. Touch a penney or a paper clip and the light will come on. All but a waste of money. One star because it will tell you that the paper clip is made out of metal.

This is just a simple conductivity test pen, it does not test for a connection to ground, only conductivity on the surface you're testing. There were no instructions included. The probe tips look to be copper, but they were not the same length on my unit, so I found it easier to test surfaces at an angle rather than straight on. If they are indeed copper, they may be susceptible to oxidation, and I found the device more responsive after cleaning the probes. The cap has a clip on it, however the cap is very easily removed, so if you plan on clipping this pen to a tool bag or pocket, make sure the body is on the inside of the pocket or you may easily lose the device. The pen includes pre-installed batteries and worked out of the box. The description says "Simple cap removal allows for easy battery replacement" but I have been unable to remove the battery cap by hand and will probably need to use a pliers to take it off. I would have preferred a more secure clip/probe cap design and easily accessible batteries, but the device works for testing conductivity of a surface without using a multimeter.

This does seem to indicate conductivity (not grounding, the listing is a little confusing). It lit up brightly when touching the copper prongs to my grounding mat but oddly I got varying light brightness from medium to no light at all touching the prongs to different places on my body. Interesting, but it’s hard to say how reliable or useful this item really is.

This is NOT a grounding tester! Even though this tool is titled "Grounding Tester", down in the description we read that it is "a conductivity tester, not a grounding verification tool". So it will test whether your grounding mat is conductive, but not whether it is grounded. The "included" batteries cannot be replaced. I could not find anywhere to open this device, it appears to be completely glued shut. So this device becomes disposable when the batteries run out. It does light up when it touches a conductive surface, any conductive surface, whether grounded or not. It is easy to use for it's limited purpose. Cannot recommend.

This tool is very handy and quick to use. I don't have to break out my digital tester. The simple tool makes verifying the grounding mat so fast. This tester functions like it should and only checks a properly grounded mat. This product came well packaged and at a reasonable price.

For my wife and I, the results of grounding were a dramatic shift with our sleeping quality, so we were pretty sure our grounding setup was working, but its nice to know for sure. Your basic multi-meter may not work as a testing device, as mine did not. I was looking at purchasing a more expensive meter until I found this pen for only a few dollars. It is ready to go out of the box. Touch it to your grounding mat with the two prongs and it should light up if it is working properly. I tested the pen on a lot of random things and could not get it to light up for a false indicator, but only when something was actually grounded like my toaster over for example. Its worth the purchase to know for sure that your grounding set up is actually working, especially if you spent a little bit of money on it. If you move your set up test it again in the new location.

Recently found out about grounding and wanted to have a tool to check various mats and grounding products. After testing this pen on a ton of materials around me including mats, the ground, myself, etc., I was really confused about how these pens work and what the light was telling me.After doing some research I realized it's working exactly as intended, and is just looking to close its circuit (touch both prongs to anything that electricity can flow through, it will close the circuit and light up the pen). So lighting up while touching two separate metal fibers in your grounding mat could let you know that the fibers are meshed together in a grid that would allow an electrical effect to flow throughout the fabric. That could be helpful to know. However the light turning on does NOT have anything to do with grounding. In fact, if you unplug your grounding mat, the pen will still light up because the metal fibers are still effectively closing the circuit. The pen works as it should to show conductivity, which is useful, but is not an effective tool at all for testing for grounding as the name on the box "Grounding Tester Pen" would suggest. A different tool that measures the amount of electric current would not only effectively test the conductivity, but also confirm whether or not something is grounded.
