GE is a trusted brand and this surge protector does the job, and appears to be safe, however the long cord is stiff and does not flatten out. Maybe it will over some time.This product is also plastic not metal. I purchased two and have had no issues thus far.

Defective Power strip, caused circuit trip every time it was turned on! And can't even return it as we unfortunately tried it only after thr return had ended.

It's well built for the price. I use it on the night stand. Cord is long and the angled plugs are great for cable management. Definitely recommend getting this.
