Our old GE Ice dispenser had a broken plastic disc in the back. It was split in two. Sometimes the plastic disc would freeze back together and then the dispenser bucket worked. If the two halves separated, the ice would not dispense. We couldn’t use the crushed ice setting because it wasn’t working.I tried replacing the plastic disc part following videos on YouTube, but it was an Epic fail! Instead, I ordered this ice dispenser bucket in the beginning of March . It is now August, six months later. The new dispenser works great! Easy to install, and worth the price paid! It responds quickly as long as the bucket is full of ice and the crushed iced setting is still working well. We had to replace this bucket at least one other time when the refrigerator was under warranty. The crushed ice function was always touchy in the past. Fingers crossed 🤞 on our new dispenser!

I was going to buy repair parts for the bucket auger, but this assembly was simply too easy! The low rating is not a reflection upon the vendor, but expresses my disappointment with many components of our GE Profile Side-By-Side. The water side is especially flawed; I've replaced two ice makers, this bucket assembly, the "flapper solenoid assembly" in the door, the water valves, the filter holder, and the water tubes.So although this replacement part is working today, I have no confidence that it will not fail tomorrow!

Purchased this replacement when the plastic sleeve failed on the ice bucket originally supplied with the refrigerator. Based on several reviews suggesting that attempting to replace only the plastic sleeve was marginally successful at best, I opted to replace the entire ice bucket unit. The new unit is a direct replacement and works well. A benefit is that the new unit also has new chopping blades which improves crushing of ice with less resistance (one reason sleeve likely failed over time).Only negative is the price - as with any replacement part, this is very expensive considering it is only inexpensive plastic and metal components.

This is a factory replacement part. Fits perfectly and runs flawlessly. GE wanted $198 for the same part. The plastic drive cup in this style bin has been a constant problem. It has broken twice in my original bin during the 6 yrs I have owned it. Replacing the cup is possible but almost not worth the hassle.
