This is a great bike rack. It looks nice. It's sturdy. And, there's a nice choice of stains. The worst thing about mygearip is the lack of customer service. I bought a second rack to complement the first one in my garage. The second one came without a wood screw - minor, because wood screws are easy to find. It also came with a split in half 4" spacer that provides integrity to the rack and mounting abilities. I called mygearip on a Sunday. Their voicemail said the usual, "We'll call you back as soon as possible" yet, I did not ever hear from them. By Thursday, I wrote an email regarding the missing wood screw and split 4" spacer. The reply email requested my address so they could "get this right out to me". Over 2 weeks later, I still do not have these items and ended up fabricating my own 4" spacer. My garage looks great! Their customer service is non existent. They even have one piece of paper dedicated to their commitment to us the customers so that we will continuously support them, their employees and vendors. Can't do that unless you actually provide their own commitment. My suggestion: Buy the product because it's great. But, if anything is missing or wrong then return the entire product for a new one. Why? Because, mygearup does not stand behind their own "pledge our commitment".

The color of "Golden Pecan" does not match the photo shown in the product listing. You'll find it is much more of a red that the rich brown color depicted. We bought this because we wanted something that looked really great since it will be out all the time. We are considering getting the unfinished one and doing the staining ourselves. If you care a lot about the look, either be prepared for a return or to do a DIY stain of your own.

It's a nice rack, good looking and built solidly. However, the picture is misleading. You can fit two adult size bikes indeed, but the top handles will not fit on the widened section. I had to put them higher up where there is only two bars left. I have a mountain-bike on the bottom, and getting to fit the handles to hold the non-horizontal top tube is very challenging. In the end, I found that the best is to simply let it rest on the floor and use one handle only to hold the bike in place. this works with hardwood floor, if you have carpet, it'll get dirty with time.So all in all, a good quality product but not thought out enough. I am happy with it and would still order it, but am disappointed that these little flaws were not worked through.

This is an all around fantastic bike rack. I bought it because we needed to store our bikes in a hallway in our downtown apartment. We didn't like most of the other options because either the base stuck out too far or they were too ugly for being highly visible to guests. This bike rack has a very classy look to it and is extremely sturdy. We have a Cannonade road bike and a Jarvis commuter bike on ours and have to issues with the rack moving at all. The bonus to this rack is that it does not require any holes in the walls and is pretty easy to install. Can't go wrong with this one!!

The skinny: Love it. Received with some holes misaligned, GearUp promptly sent a new portion and it went up like a charm.Myths -(1) it will fall over. Never. You didn't apply enough pressure from the bottom. Just use the two screws if you are worried.(2) there is no padding on the arms. They are rubber coated sufficient to hold very high quality bikes. It's grippy enough to.Function: Excellent, no issues with it falling over like others have stated. Apartment ceiling has studs every 48" (not sure how that flew...), and carpet to boot, so I drilled and screwed it (with the provided drywall screw) into the ceiling after initial pressure-fit and decision on position. Four bikes (two road, two mountain), aggressive use, and even after a small earthquake today everything is AOK. I'd say that's good!Construction: Excellent. High quality wood (only one piece with a minor hint of a knot) and well finished hardware. A few of the holes on the long main pieces were misaligned at first receipt - photo & email sent to customer support and they were very helpful in getting a solution out.Style: Using it as a room divider. Looks very stylish! Will post up a pic when I get a chance. Classic oak fits in many decors. Also - Completely made and supported in the USA. I like that.

I own four bikes. I do a lot of bicycling and storage of them is an issue. I keep my bikes either down the basement where I have my shop or in the spare bedroom. My bikes are expensive and so I refuse to hang them in my garage even though it is locked. I have a large rack down in my repair area of the basement, but then I have to drag a bike up the stairs each time I go out. I decided that since the spare bedroom had become a "staging area" for my cycling operations, I needed a decent looking rack for in that room. This Oak rack looks pretty good in there with a couple of Italian racing bikes suspended over the floor and out of the way. It is easy to use and once properly installed, it is very sturdy. I would recommend it to anyone. If I had kids I would make sure they didn't climb it or use it as a toy. The only constraint is that you must plant it directly under a support beam and this somewhat limits your options for placement. I don't know how that could be resolved as you do need to get pressure on the supports to anchor the apparatus.
