The upper mounting bolt for the starter on my Briggs & Stratton 16hp Vanguard engine was partially blocked by the starter drive. This flex socket allowed me to get to the 13mm hex head and loosen it.

I am disappointed in gear wrench on this one. After a handful of uses the roll pin fell out. I give it 3 stars because I'm just going to tack weld it back in and go about my day. I still like gear wrench tools. But this one was a bust....literally.

Got this for removing valve cover bolts on a 2002 F-250 Super Duty diesel. It works perfect.. I like that there is a little resistance in the universal joint - helps keep the socket in the right position.

I own Snap On 8mm and 10mm versions of this product, but made by Snap On. I was sick of paying $40+ for these sockets so I decided to try the much cheaper GearWrench version. I have many GearWrench ratcheting wrenches and cannot say enough good things about them, so I said what the heck? This socket feels like quality when used, just like its Snap On counterpart. Unfortunately, the 3rd time I used it, it broke on one of the joints. Luckily these are lifetime-warrantied, but I will be taking it home for off-duty use and replacing it at work with a Snap On because downtime on tools is not an option.

It's about the same size as a 1/4" universal joint, which is a lot smaller than a universal joint + standard 13mm socket. I use it for working on a Porsche 944 (along with a 10mm in 1/4")...they come in very handy in tight spaces. A 3/8" one just wouldn't quite cut it.I can't seem to find the Craftsman ones at Sears in these sizes. Tried ordering it online and the order was cancelled...it seems they don't make the Craftsman ones any more. They have them in other sizes (3/8")...but 13mm in 1/4" drive seems to be discontinued.
