Original transformer in low voltage light fixture failed. This was a direct replacement. The only downside is that the high voltage leads are a bit shorter than ideal. Once they passed through the center, there isn't much wire left, which makes the connection more difficult than it needs to be.

Technically a sound and flawless working component, and pretty much performs the expected function. I was disappointed by the fact that the wires attached to the device are short and won't allow much wiggle room for the installation. Reasonably priced, and once installed it performs as expected. Flawless on the delivery and the communication with the supplier.

Fraction of the cost of the manufacturer and works fine. I have had it installed for about 6 months. We'll see how long it lasts but if I get a year or more worth the minor cost.UPDATE: A few weeks after writing this review it died. It was 6 months and 2 weeks old. I ordered another and the replacement works. Let's see how long this one lasts. Decreasing rating by one star due to short life.

After watching my halogen track lights get worse and worse (flickering, dimming, winking out, cycling on/off, going out after a few hours) and doing the basic troubleshooting, I figured it must be the transformer. After checking for a replacement (name brand) and comparing specs, I found this option to be less than half the cost. It took a couple of wire nuts to easily replace the old transformer, and I liked that the leads on this transformer were soldered (so the copper strands didn't come lose). After a quick check, I flipped the switch and the lights work great. No flicker. No dimming. No going out. Very pleased. I bought a total of three and replaced three different transformers that were experiencing the same problems.

This is the best transformer I have ever installed! It's quiet, light, compact, elegant and easy to use. The wires are color coded so you will never fry your equipment from faulty wiring, unless you have no clue what you're doing. It's almost as if my halogen lights shine brighter with this power supply. Amazing is an understatement!

Works great. Is the identical size as the one that died in my halogen track lights. This one is rated for slightly more power and has larger wires, which is nice. Build quality seems good. It's a UL recognized component too, not one of those generic, unlisted devices you should avoid.[Update: After a year and five months, this one has also died. Opening it up, I can see heat discoloration on the circuit board. I've now ordered a 230W replacement, which hopefully can power my 120W of bulbs without dying in under 2 years. ]
