The Genie GL-8 is a material lift that can be used as a hand truck, forklift, or dolly. The telescoping aluminum frame makes the lift compact and lightweight, while steel forks make the lift more durable. The lift has a 10' .5" (3.06 m) maximum lifting height and a 400 lb (181 kg) capacity for lifting and moving heavy items.

Protects Flooring with Non-Marking Wheels and Dual Swivel Casters

It comes with non-marking 2" (5 cm) dual wheel front swivel casters, and 8" (20 cm) rear wheels for protecting floors when transporting items.

Designed for Easy Maneuverability and Storage

The lift has a hold-down bar to secure the aluminum mast during transport, and can fit through most standard doorways. Lifting power is provided from a standard winch, which is reversible for compact storage.

About Material Lifts

Works perfect for lifting up high. Lift is built well and is very easy to operate. Rolls easy on cement with a load on it.

The only reason it is not 5 stars is that we wear out the pinion shaft every two years from using it so much.

This lift so far has been the best that I have ever used. I chose Genie first because of it`s reputation for being reliable. It is sturdy and easy to use. Great for a tight spot, or open spot, and handles the load.

I used the gl-8 model for moving and hoisting around heavy equipment that was close to 400 pounds. This lift is wonderful. The winch system raises and lowers the load precisely and locks in place when you get it where you want it. The large pneumatic tires let move easily. The smaller front castors are great on flat surfaces, but need attention on rough or uneven surfaces. The forks flip upside down to give about two extra feet of height if you need it.We used a lifting bar that straddled the forks and locked in place with pins to allow us to hoist with the pad eyes on things like motors.Fantastic piece of equipment. Allows one or two people to safely move loads that would otherwise need five or six, if not a forklift. At 145lbs you could throw it in a truck if you needed too. There are castors on the top to help you slide it in a truck. It uses a cable winch and pulleys to provide the lift. Take care to wind the cable carefully and it will last a long long time.
