I was going to just change the rope on my Honda HRX217 mower as it was about to break... until I found this replacement starter assembly for about the same price as changing the rope. So easy to install and it was a direct fit.

Needed a new pull because the old one wouldn't totally retract. This one was super easy to install, just unscrew the nuts from the old one, pop this one on and retighten the nuts. Started right up. Was even able to attach to the handle for ease of pulling. Very satisfied with the product.

This fit my HRX217 HYA Honda Mower with a GCV190 engine, even though it was not included in the description for this Recoil Starter. I bought it because the description allowed for a free return if it didn't fit. It was easy to install and works perfectly. I ordered it on April 4, 2020 and it was delivered on April 6, 2020. I noticed in the description that another prospective customer asked it if would fit a HRX217HYA Mower. And it will fit. It fit mine.A happy Amazon Prime customer

It was a perfect fit. Know though that the cord length is not long enough to have the cord rest on the rails like the original.
