Excelent product, beautiful and usefull. Great gift idea for those who like to cook. It took a bit longer to arrive than other amazon products, but it was shipped directly from Japan. Open flame resistant and oven resistant, just keep in mind it's stoneware and drastic temperature changes may crack the pot, so wait until cooled to wash and use a thermal mat o wood when placin the hot pot on your stone kitchen top.

I like the price. It turns burnt on the bottom after the first few uses , not sure if it’s normal.

The enclosed instructions in Japanese did specify to season before using.Their website (translated into English) did not & "Rufus" did not.Medome is the process used - simmering 2 TBL rice in 80% full of water for an hour will seal the ceramic pores.Beautiful pot.
