this thing is far sturdier than i had hoped it would be and talk about beautiful...Update in 2020, tripod did not last long at all. the plastic inserts around the legs broke multiple times and the final straw was when carbon fiber splinters gorged my hand while simply trying to lengthen the monopod a bit. rip off! NOT a $700 tripod!
